Hullo Gem, I do enjoy watching your color! I did go to the website but #96 is not available, but #93 Bad girls of Halloween is available is there a perhaps a number mix-up? Ah well always a joy to see your pages come to life! You get better as that is more important than any stream! I do hope you finish this page even if it is in a regular video spot. I do enjoy your multimedia approach to coloring books!

Yes, this sky is very spooky, I'll be giving this one a try. I wouldn't have thought to use the chalk pastel over pencil, so thanks for that great idea. Would love to see you finish this one! Gran's philosophy is wonderful and so true.

Such a pleasure to watch you create. I can see coming back to this video in the future. You sound just fine, by the way. I'm a retired radio announcer, and I know that when you have a cold or congestion it does sound much worse to you "inside your head" than it sounds to the listener. Hope you continue to feel better.
@TheColourCave2 жыл бұрын
I would LOVE to hear your radio announcer voice vs your normal voice - I pay very close attention to language, accents and inflection from years of working in call centres - I still have a 'telephone voice' for my clients, but it now changes depending on where in the country I'm calling!
@FrankDudgeon2 жыл бұрын
@@TheColourCave For the first couple of years I was in radio I had to work at top-40 pop music stations and was required to do the high energy, over the top delivery - and I was terrible at it! Then in the 1970's and into the 80's I got to work at a few "alternative" commercial stations that played an eclectic mix of music, announcers chose their own playlists, and the approach was very conversational. Then I transitioned to what in the U,S. are called "public radio stations," non-profits usually allied with National Public Radio and again the tone was conversational. So my announcer voice was pretty much my real voice, just a smoother delivery than everyday conversation. Now I just sound like an old man - cuz I'm an old man. Interesting how you adopt a telephone voice for clients and adapt it to where the listener is. Very cool.

Awesome sky effect Gem. Thanks for sharing this technique. I’d definitely like to see how you choose to complete this page. I’m especially interested to see your technique for the fabrics and clothing. Those are some of the hardest things to color in my opinion. Thanks again and have a wonderful day as well as upcoming week. 😊

I've actually refilled a Micron before! I don't think it'd work on the brush nib ones, but on the fineliner nibs, it is actually possible. I just used normal India ink for it myself. Jelarts did a video on it ages ago, but the short gist of it is: gently pull out the metal part of the nib with pliers (very gently, especially on the finer nibs), using an eyedropper or syringe, drop some ink into the reservoir, and then put the metal part back on. Worked fine! I've refilled a plastic-nibbed brush pen (Tombow?) by just setting it in some ink and hoping capillary action would refill it, which also worked. I wouldn't want to try it on a proper (felt?) brush nib though, that might get squished. Maybe if I could rig something up so that it hangs suspended with the tip in the ink? Also love what you have done with that sky! I don't personally have patience for coloured pencils, but the works you create with them are amazing and I love watching along.

Wow, only took me half a week to actually catch up! I love the way the background turned out. Now that looks amazing! :) I have an Artist's Soft Fixative for my charcoal and pencil adventures. It's also quite lovely. It seems that colds are far more persistant these days than they used to be. We have children in kindergarten unable to shake the symptoms for weeks. (But that might also be because parents bring their kids way before they're completely over it, not sure)
@MrsBarnabas2 жыл бұрын
The 'persistent colds' this year are a result of Covid, Because we were in lockdown for so long, we caught less infections, which has lowered our resistance somewhat. For the same reason, the powers that be are nervous of a very bad flu season this winter. (A non-technical explanation of a medical explanation - I can't remember the names of the experts, but this is the gist of what was said.)
@blackrose5382 жыл бұрын
@@MrsBarnabas I know. But Covid, lockdown and masks aren't the only reason for persistent colds. I've had coughs that lasted quite a long time before Covid, too. 🤷🏻♀️ But yes, social distancing is a huge reason for most people becoming ill more often now.

Yay more on this image (what I need to start colouring in myself in my magazine :D ) I'm the same as you, I hardly ever change pencil brands on the same picture, the only time I mix them up is when I'm using all my Derwents together. Yes please for the rest of the witch! ETA: Ask your doctor to prescribe you some carbocisteine (Mucodyne is the brand name) which is what I have as a left over consequence of the Swine Flu etc and it really helps to break down excessive mucus in the back of the throat/nose etc that you can't blow out. I have to take it every few weeks because my whole body now just doesn't work properly!
@TheColourCave2 жыл бұрын
Interesting! I will see if I can get some of that, it sounds like what I am needing!
@Mirrigold2 жыл бұрын
@@TheColourCave honestly it's a marvel, it basically helps dry up any excessive mucus etc and means you lose that horrible bunged up sinusy feeling. I get it quite a lot after the Swine Flu and associated complications as my lymphatic system's essentially shot!
