I know this is a bit late, but I am working on becoming a Beardsman myself and these videos are very helpful. They make me feel confident because I know there are guys that were in the same place that I'm currently in. The growth process is definitely annoying, but thankfully there are beard products that help with the itchy horribleness. Cheers!

PeacePipeMan Dude! Awesome work. I know at the 2 to 3 month stage you are really starting to fill in and have a nice full looking beard. If you aren't getting much negative feedback I'd definitely try growing for it a little longer. It seems that in today's world the 4 to 5 month beard is really the sweet spot. To be honest I've had a beard since I was about 16 and I am 37 now . I have never used any oils or special beard shampoos and stuff like that . I just use a stick of Irish spring in the shower and a regular oval brush that your girlfriend/wife would use on their hair haha just borrow hers when she isn't looking. I prefer bar soap because it makes it feel thicker . because for me shampoo and conditioner makes it feel thin and oily

Eric...have you ever done a video about the pros/cons of blow drying your beard? As my beard has gotten longer, I've noticed that if I blow dry it directly out of the shower, it tends to be more manageable during the rest of the day. But I've often wondered if blow drying my beard with heat causes damage. My wife's blow dryer does have a "cool" option, which I normally will finish with after hitting it with the heat.
@Beardbrand9 жыл бұрын
+BigRedYeti A blow dryer, when used properly is an awesome tool. I've used it everyday for a period of a few months and didn't have any split ends or damage. It's all about how you use it. I haven't done a blow dryer video specifically - but I think it'd be a great topic.

+Abu Zayn Moore You can actually use both, I definitely do. I like a comb for a gentle run through after a shower while my beard is still a bit damp, and this helps get some of the knots and tangles out. I've had a beard for more than 4 years however I've never actually 'grown' a beard. I started maybe 4months ago and therefore I'm a noob. My question, which I hope you can help with, is: I keep trimming the hair beneath my chin as it keeps outgrowing the hair along and above my chin and jaw line. So because of that the overall length of my beard hasn't exceeded more than an inch. Getting a bit frustrated because when I don't trim, the whole look is messy no matter what I do to try keep it in shape. I am a patient person... Am I being not so patient?
@zupinu20008 жыл бұрын
Hey Beard, does it matter if the comb is a plastic or wood? i hear plastic is bad because of potential static shocks that can 'kill' your beard.
@Beardbrand8 жыл бұрын
Well, it depends on what type of plastic and how it's manufactured. A saw cut cellulose acetate comb is far superior to an extruded plastic that comes from a mold. I talk more about it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rZTaqIWCqrZjebs & Carlos talks about his preference of combs vs brushes here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZiQg4qkiZmoeJY

Not on the topic of combing but unsure how to ask a question. I was told by cutting the ends off of the beard then it will grow faster. Is this true ? and how much should I cut off if I do. Been growing for 4 months now and the growth seems to have stopped.
@Beardbrand10 жыл бұрын
Andrew Baillie The speed your beard grows will always be the same, but cutting off the tips could help the beard be more healthy and get longer. The goal is to cut of split ends before they become very unhealthy and break. If you are dealing with a lot of split ends, I'd try to trim just above where they are splitting. Chances are at 4 months it's just harder to notice the difference in growth. It's best to take photographs and compare over time.

the pattern of my beard growth is kind of weird, on the left jawline the hairs point straight down, and on the right jawline the hairs point towards my ears. The hairs on the cheecks (don't have them yet) wil probably point in the same direction on each side of my face. My dad has it too, but will that be a problem, or look weird when in the future i'm able to grow a full beard, or will i be able to comb it down?

Ya, I get this question a lot and having different pointed hairs below your jawline is very very common. I know personally I have this weird beard wave right below my jaw. I wouldn't worry about it at all and you'll be able to work through those growth patterns.

I just started growing my beard about a month ago and its in pretty solid. However it does look really sort of wild, and I could tell theres a bunch of knots in it cause when i run my comb threw it the comb snags and i could just leave it there, its mostly around the lower muttonchop areas. Any advice for combing a beard not as mighty as yours? Which way to brush to deknot and tidy up so its not totally wildman?
@ilaxim10 жыл бұрын
I should also mention that I also just purchased the Tree Ranger oil and one of your pocket-combs, my goal is prolly going to be a Yeard, , however I would love to have it looking long yet still tidy in the process.

ilaxim The key will be regular trimming to keep the wispy hairs away. If you haven't used beard oil and the comb yet, it'll help. Really slow and steady is the best strategy. Angel Martinez I've got a plan to do a few more how to style the hair at a mid length growth video. I've got three options. Seems like you guys really dig the hair videos as well.

Hi Eric, great video. Thanks for sharing. PS I see great improvement of your beard. It has been always epic and awesome but now it looks realky great. It seems to be more density and shape is more consist. Have a nice day :)

Zbigniew Piotrowicz Yep, I've gotten a little better with my grooming techniques over the years and also learned the power of good lighting.

what if my beard is really "tough" and i cant just comb it when its dry? i mean, it wont even start to go though the beard and that's when using oil and everything
@Beardbrand8 жыл бұрын
You might want to bring a comb in the shower and give it a gentle once or twice-through while its damp. Or you can do it once you get out of the shower before you dry your beard. I'd also suggest grabbing a good bristle brush or boar's hair brush like this: www.beardbrand.com/products/boars-hair-brush It will be great for the tough to comb beards and give you a nice clean and neat look after using it! -Zach

My biggest things is trying to get my sideburns to lay flat. I've tried different things but nothing seems to work.

I should probably add that it's curly and wavy. My beard itself is also wavy

dusty livingstom Try this technique for the sideburns. Add a little bit of product to it for hold: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5u6fnyeo9GojZYm20s
