Asuma Knuckle Knives have a different aerial triangle string, compared to the regular Knuckle Knives... It's also what makes Asuma Knuckle Knives so strong. The first hit of said string is identical to the third hit of the aerial square string. So, what does that mean? As you know, normally, if you keep R2-cancelling the first hit of the ground string, you would end up with less hits/dmg (Knuckle Knives being the exception). In other words, the first hit of a string generally exhausts the combo cap more than other hits of a string (yes, this also applies to aerial strings). This does not apply to the aerial triangle string of the Asuma Knuckle Knives, however, as its first hit has the same properties as the third hit of the aerial square string. You can achieve much longer and stronger air combos, if you use the triangle string correctly.
