Mines acne & mood swings, severe depression, & anxiety. 😢 Wish I’d never taken HBC to begin with. I tolerated it pretty well until mid-30’s & that’s when the severe panic attacks started. I am so afraid to go off the pill. I’ve been on the birth control pill everyday for 10 years now. One time I stopped the pill for 3 months (bc I didn’t refill my scrip with gyno) and I went absolutely crazy! So moody and depressed, lashing out at my partner. I was a complete different person. And of course, my acne and horrible periods came back. I also have endometriosis and birth control is supposed to suppress this awful disease. I am terrified that my endometriosis and depression/moodiness is going to get worse again

Hello and thank you for this video! I've experienced some weird symptoms from being on and since going off BCP. I didn't hear anything on this however could spotting be due to something being off? I've had a pap/HPV and ultrasound and everything is normal. I asked about my hormones and was told that this just might be the way my body is now. I spot randomly and usually it starts mid cycle and can last a tiny bit up until my actual period. Other months I don't notice it really at all.

Hi! I was on an anti androgen birth control for 9 years I finally decided to stop the pills and deal with my painful periods and acne head on. I had my hormones tested and they came back completely normal but I was also in the follicular phase of my cycle. instead of telling me if my values were normal based on what they should be in the follicular cycle my doctor based her diagnosis on women from one age to another. I am experiencing jawline and forehead acne. I have a lot of symptoms of testosterone dominance( abnormal hair growth, acne, and irregular periods.) I have been drinking spearmint tea for a month now and it has helped with the sensitivity of the acne but not the acne itself. I also have been taking dimm which helped with the breast tenderness I’ve experienced. I really appreciate any advice you could give. Thank you for all your help!

It's been 5 months since stopping BC and my skin hasn't looked this great since l was in high school. I was deathly afraid of coming off of BC as l heard so many horror stories and also read that if you were using BC to control your acne, then it would more than likely return once you stopped (l was only taking it to control my acne). Hello! Thank you for the video! I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone who chose the copper iud Paragard as a form of non-hormonal birth control, but I chose to have that installed towards the end of January 2019 a couple days after my birthday. Prior to getting Paragard, my skin was so clear, and balanced with the exception of some acne scars (pitted) from about 7-8 years ago when I had acne. Despite this, my skin was in a happy place where topically it was clear, even, small pores, no blackheads and no sensitivity. As well as internally balanced with hormones, digestive health, gut health, and no potential food sensitivities. However, this all changed about 2-3 months after Paragard insertion. Everything got disrupted and now not only do I have acne, exessive oiliness, fields of blackheads and large pores, but I also developed Malasezzia (Pityrosporum Folliculitis) AKA fungal acne on my forehead. I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF HELP 😔 How do I restore balance back into my body after having Paragard for about 3-4 months and then removing it around May? Do I need to take a blood test to get my levels checked or any other tests? I'm so embarrassed to be seen by people who last time they saw me (a few months ago) I had clear skin and now suddenly my skin is bad by comparison. I would really appreciate the help 😥❤

i've been suffering from rashes on my face and parts of my body along with hair thinning since Sept. 2019. After seeing a number of doctors and dermatologist and having medications given to me and blood drawn at least 5 times they were all inconclusive and doctors were really unenthusiastic in helping me with this very uncomfortable and unsightly problem. I believe I have discovered on my own that it may be my birth control (Nuvaring). I have been mostly on (more than off) BC for the past 14-15 years and I've decided this last cycle - about a week ago now - to stop taking BC. I've noticed a reduction in my rashes already but I am worried about more hair thinning as my hair has already thinned quiet a bit over the years i'm sure do to on and off hormonal imbalances etc. Do you suggest anything to help with prevention or hormonal balance in regards to hair loss/thinning since I am now off of synthetic hormonal BC? I am going to take your suggestions you've listed on the 3 things to do first but I wanted to ask specifically for diffused hair thinning.

Thank you for your share and your questions. The 1st thing to do would be to get your hormone levels checked both day 3 as well as day 21 (luteal phase) of your cycle. Total estrogen, E1+E2, progesterone, DHEA, free and total testosterone. Also full thyroid hormone work up - watch our hormone test 101 video as well as our hair loss video. Find an ND or holistic doc to help you! In the mean time, supplement with collagen, msm, foti, minerals, iron and vit C (desc box of the hair loss video) while you wait for more specific info.

Should I start taking the vitamins as a routine before I go off birth control? Or would that place too many hormones in my body

Def start before you phase off the birth control to help your body with more support it might need to reregulate

This video was super useful! Thanks a lot. Just one question, why is it better to avoid folic acid?
@PrettyWell
@PrettyWell 4 жыл бұрын
So glad ☺️ Thank you for your share and Q. Folic acid is a synthetic form of folate (what is found in food). Folate is easily used by the body whereas folic acid is not for those who have MTHFR genetic SNPs. 💗

Yes, just fine to come off OCs on your own. If there was a prior health issue that was one of the reasons you chose to start, other than birth control, you’ll want to make sure you continue to get care there.

I came off the pill almost 6 months ago and the last 3 months I have developed Seborrheic Dermatitis. I was expecting acne not eczema! Do you have any suggestions for combating this? I am on a probiotic and magnesium supplement. I have used all topical options which hasn't helped as I know this is an hormonal imbalance within issue...

B5 to start Check your hormone levels If androgens are running high (oil secretion can trigger a flare) d-chiro inositol can be of help If it is estrogen dominance suppression of thyroid hormone, address that. Find an ND to help you 💛

OMG This happened to me!! Will this go away?!!! I don't plan on going back on birth control because my fiance and I are trying to get pregnant but I can't stand this itchiness and flakiness!! I hope this will go away!! My scalp is also so sensitive!! And I am getting pimples on my scalp the pimples on my face are so bad and hormonal!!

Jess P hey! Yes it did go away! I got rid of the flakiness by using Dandrazol shampoo on my face and hair! I then I bought this Skin Conditioning Oil from Biom8 which really helped! It’s been almost 7months since I’ve been off the pill, so I think the products in conjunction with time has helped!

@@ellengreen2957 I don't have it anywhere but my scalp and everytime I use anti dandruff shampoo it burns my scalp.... Do you think with time it will? Was your hair also oiler? It's only been 4 months since I have been off of the pill
@ellengreen2957
@ellengreen2957 4 жыл бұрын
Jess P I do believe it should go away with time. I also did a hormone blood check and the results came back okay, so I think it was just a temporary reaction to being off the pill. I would use a prescribed anti fungal shampoo as that helped ease my symptoms for my hair!

My fatigue is just terrible, moods are off and anxiety level around my pms is just bad at time....I’ve just start the pills i just mentioned hoping it will help along with vitex, and some b12 that I’ve notice has helped somewhat with my energy....but just want to know about the folic acid?
