Evidence of funds of $1000 for each month of stay is way out of date. $1000/ month equates to $250/week. It can cost $30/ night or more just to sleep on some grass in a camp site these days. $30 x 7 nights = $210/ week so you will have $40 left over to buy food for the week leaving no money for any transport or entertainment. And $40/ week is insufficient for a weeks food.

Hello I have a question, my partner is Australian, she is traveling with me to New Zealand but I am aVenezuelan (so I need to apply for a visa) I do have the funds .. But sadly I was denied an Australian visa, we just want to travel and spend Christmas together.. And she is always traveling hours to meet me in other countries. What are the chances I have? Cause I have to disclose that my Australian visa got denied. I do have the funds - 20k USD in savings - we will only stay 2-3 weeks. I work in China, I have my contract and also the date that I am requested to go back to work.. I have traveled to many many countries in Europe and Asia. I apply in Dec and got by decision in January and the visit visa was denied merely on speculation, generalization, and also presumption.So I disagree with concerned visa officer and applied for a refund.Even I had attached MY CV for ...which has PHD and I do qualify for residence visa through 6 points system...they actually want to make money through such applicants and they say they are a rich country,
