Do you recall a time where you experienced someone demanding respect, simply because they were elder to you or perhaps a senior within your workplace? Did it feel natural to you, or did it feel forced? Did it increase your respect for them, or degrade it?
This covers one of the most important fundamentals of advanced communication - the difference between commanding respect versus demanding respect!
Many people who have positional power don’t necessarily understand this difference, hence they likely never truly gain respect from others.
In this video I explain how you can COMMAND (not demand) respect from people around you, which will enable you to hold your position of authority, resulting in people seeing you and treating you with the utmost respect, irrespective of your age.
0:00 - Introduction
1:25 - Way 1 - Build Competency
2:08 - Way 2 - be Mindful
3:50 - Way 3 - Nuanced language
5:13 - Way 4 - Don't be Overly Nice
6:11 Way 5 - Open-Mindedness
7:15 - Way 6 - Setting Boundaries
8:20 - Way 7 - Managing Emotion
9:20 - Way 8 - Look respectable
10:45 - Way 9 - Express Yourselves

You must be an engineer, Everything sounds so planned, to the point and well researched with insights. If I have to speak 12 minutes something like this, I would have to spend 4 hours in preparation.

Ron sir, very beautifully explained in simplicity but one important thing respect should always from heart and not out of fear. if it is coming from fear it means the person is respecting the position and not the person.

Hi Ron, thank you for clear thoughts it always helps, however I do have a doubt, like we should have expertise atleast in one field but what about adaptability to change, should the change be in same expertise field or it can be other fields where we are not so confident of managing it? Kindly guide from ur views.
