Thanks Rob! It was originally planned to go on brackets up high above everything but the builder back flipped on that decision in case the council told them they had to move it. This is in Edgecliff and it’s a heritage conservation area so technically you can’t put it up high on brackets. Unfortunately this is where it had to go unfortunately.

It’s to make the outdoor unit expel the heat upwards so it doesn’t recirculate on itself. It’s more about making the system more efficient rather then reducing noise. Cheers mate

I want to know more about the business side haha. What did you learn with the builder and not paying I’m guessing. Do you get 50% deposit up front first? Iv never worked with a builder before

I’ve learnt a lot over the last 11 years running a business and I won’t do anything without a deposit. Also I did not commission this job until I was fully paid. I guess the major thing I’ve learnt is, don’t play by their rules. Most of these builders have cash flow issues. It sounds arrogant and I don’t want it to come off like that, but if they want me then they have to play by my rules. My rules being, deposit, progress payment, full payment at day of commissioning.

I haven’t personally installed one yet but I think they look nice! My only concern is when you need to do a maintenance on them, I have heard they’re a bit fiddly to work on. I do like the look though.

I’m not really sure what you mean by auto charging but basically, after you install the system you need to measure how much liquid line there is. Then do the equation on the inside of the panel to work out how much extra refrigerant you need to add.

Not this model. This unit is a basic 2 pipe system that can only heat or cool at the one time.

Have you had leaks or heard of leaks coming from the soft drawn, copper line set?. Over here in the United States the soft drawn copper with the white sheeting has had a big problem with lots of leaks for many years. On hard drawn Copper I have never had that problem in 30 years.. soft drawn copper with the white insulation started leaking within one years to two years. Many jobs have leaked through the copper..

That’s very interesting because it has never been a problem here in Australia however it has recently become an issue. We are going through that now over here and I’m beginning to lose faith in soft drawn pair coil.

@@maracservices the one company of soft drawn copper is called ISO Polar that I’ve had the most trouble with. It is a company based in Italy. When I complained about the problem, I was coming across several different systems with this problem they denied it and they said I was the only one they have never heard of the problem before.. When I search the Internet on Google and on different HVAC professional form websites chats in discussions and on KZbin, I seen people were complaining of the exact same problem I was complaining about . And the company ISO Polar and the distributors would tell every person that they’ve never heard of a leak problem and that each one of them were the only person who said they had that problem.. Until each of us on different Hvac, website forms started talking to each other and finding out about each other and talking about the problems we were having we discover they lie to all their customers about having a leak problem and denying it . So they’re real lowlifes, scummy company that will do anything and lie to save the reputation from being tarnished that they’re selling a bad product that makes the contractors lose money by having to go back, and re-pull out all the copper and re-copper the whole job again. You can imagine how much money you would lose, if after a year to you had to go back to your jobs and remove the copper and replace it . Your reputation gets tarnished with your customer.. Because the company wants to turn profits . In the large corporate, HVAC distributing companies will stand behind and lie about the product too, because they have too much money to lose because they get this copper so much cheaper than having it produced. At least here in the United States Mueller copper is the best brand name copper company in the United States that makes it quality product.

@@coldfinger459sub0 yeah we have only started experiencing that here this year and it’s pretty bad. We used to have an Australian manufacturer but nowadays it’s all from china and it’s all rubbish. I’m trying to distance myself from it where I can but as I said in the video, it’s hard when everyone else is quoting against you with cheaper products.
