If I could only do one thing all day it would be to listen and learn from your marvelous videos/tutorials. Repetition is good. Thank you for your generosity and sharing your knowledge and expertise in such an accessible way. I could compare it to listening to a beautiful symphony.

My goal for this year is to write my first symphony! I've dabbled in a lot of orchestral composition, but I've always been baffled as to how to go about creating something as epic as a symphony. These videos have been "instrumental" in giving me the tools, courage, and inspiration to take on this goal. It was incredibly helpful to see the whole process with the attendant commentary and suggestions. I will watch your "How to Compose a Romantic Symphony," as this is my favourite sub-genre, and then I think I will be ready to go. Oh - and your composition is lovely! It made following along on this journey a delight. Thank you SO much for making all of this available for us, Michael!

Just finished my first 3rd movement of the symphony. The minuet and trio, so came back to refresh on the Grand Finale movement. I'm ahead of schedule or any deadlines I set as I'll be working on this in June and the full scores don't need to be sent off until December, so I'll have plenty of time to get used to Dorico that I invested in instead of Sibelius for the engraving of the scores. :) These video's are great to follow through and provide solid structure.

Thank you so much Michael for these videos. Your exposition of how to create a classical symphony and your lovely commentary are just ‘music to my ears!’ In the past couple of years or so I have dabbled with composing orchestral pieces but have so far shied away from attempting a full symphony, but your videos have inspired me and I’m going to have a go! Once again, thank you for all your hard work in this area and I’ll watch out for any future tutorials you may put on KZbin. Kind regards, Graham.
