Good day Sir. I had a C/E who tested me in the calculation of rpm given %load. I calculated using the MCR %. But he was a jerk and said my calcs was wrong. He says there is another method which I guess also uses MCR/MCO but have another given item. Do you know this formula Sir. Example: From Tech Office. Dear C/E. What is your RPM setting if we require engine load of 75%?

Hello, regarding to your question. There are many ways to compute, but the best and easy one is.. watch the level of your cyl. Oil tank for 1hr. Or maybe try 24 hrs then you divide it .. Example is @yesterday noon time the level of cyl. Oil is 100MT then today's level is 94MT.. 100-94 = 6 / 24 = 0.25Mt / hour.. I hope i answer your question

But U already got 23 MT before doing the calculation. Usually on a new ship, the Office will ask: our ship using secondhand engine with 2 x 730hp, now calculate the oil consumption for ME, AE for 1 hour, this is disaster for Gen Z. U need to know MCR, FCt, SF and age of engine tolerate between 80%~95%. 😂😂😂
