Hi Ian: I’m wanting to setup 3 maybe 4 VLANs. Here is the issue I’m not sure about. I have a Cisco Router SV260W default gateway of 192.168.123.254. I have an Ubuntu Webserver static on 192.168.123.104. I am forwarding ports 8083 and 8080 to that address as well for the Server. So would like to leave that setup alone if possible. I have the following Ubiquiti equipment. 24 port POE switch, an 8 port 60 watt switch, 4 of the 5 port mini flex switches. I’m wanting the following VLANs. One for IoT, one for guest wifi access and one for my main LAN like doing my video editing. I also have a cloud key gen. 2. Do I have to set the VLANs in the Cisco router and the the 24 port switch. I even thought of changing over to an Edgerouter X even. So looking for some ideas on implimenting.

Hi It was such great video. Very knowledgeable indeed. But, i do have a question. I have configured a similar set up but now with a problem. My Wifi devices can ping the LAN devices such Printers and NAS, but can't access the LAN devices for essential services such as file-sharing, webpage access and printing ?

But i ruled out that possibility; as the NAS, for instance, shows up as soon as i switch from WiFi to LAN.

and it was pingable throughout

do you have to have a vlan switch for this to work? i am unable to pass any internet traffic

In this video I don't have switch to configure vlans, but I configured vlans on Mikrotik router instead.

In this case guest vlan can communicate with other vlans? It is important to set the rule to limit traffic between guest vlan

Thank You! How from a guest Vlans it is possible to be connected to the server through LAN? Is it enough just to assign it the value 192.168.12.100 and connect it to the switch L2?

HI!!! Thanks for the video. It was very useful, but I have one big question. All the Vlans can access to others vlans clients and also can have access to all the LAN network from the Mikrotik and the LAN from the router too. How could I isolate Vlan networks from the other Vlans? I think i couldn't isolate from LAN's, right? These are problems/configuration from routing/firewall? Thanks a lot!

Thanks for this video For more information It's imposible to pass traffic from cisco device to UNIFI UBIQUTI using this steps You need to create vlan in UBIQUITY from settings then network tab. I've created 3 vlan then the traffic pass.

Thanks, it was good to see this setup without a UniFi or Edge Router. Try voice, the text was tiresome

Or type it all in advance, and simply scroll to the next paragraph as you demonstrate. I'm at 0:46 watching at 1.5x, will decide shortly if I'll raise it to 2x.

@WatchedZ018 жыл бұрын
this just had to be done on a microtik.. . ouch.. better off replacing that thing with a sonicwall. though, it does answer questions about aruba vs ubiquiti for ease of setup and home use without the 500 dollar pricetag of an aruba.
