How to Connect 5.1 Channel Speaker to your PC Manually | Like Theater

Hey man thanks alot for this vid! I always wondered if this could be done however I've never bothered to try it myself and guess what? It actually works. But maybe some explanation would help as this method may not work for everyone. Your motherboard audio chipset has to support this otherwise it won't work. In my case, I have a realteck audio chipset on my board. When I plug in a speaker into the mic and line in ports while the computer is on it automatically prompts me as to what type of device I just plugged in either mic/audio input or C/sub, front out or side out. Different audio drivers may do this differently but if it supported you should have an option somewhere to change the device from mic or line in to the 5.1 or 7.1 outputs. I did do some reading about this online and I believe there may be some method to force your line in and mic ports to be used as 5.1 outputs but if your motherboard didn't support it in the first place then your audio quality would be very poor from these ports as it was not made to output and in this case persons would be better off buying a cheap internal or external 5.1 sound card. Hope this helps.

wdym "mic out"? traditionally there's only "in" for microphones, while "out" is for speakers. but in this case, the mic socket can act as "out" as well is due to the wiring inside the socket + the ability to set that up via software.

1. buy motherboard with optical (toslink) sound input 2. find home theater with optical (toslink) sound output 3. buy toslink cable 4. connect and listen loudly and clearly... better than logitech z906

Yes 5.1 dts surround sound ata hai, this is working in on pc only , playback video bhi 5.1 channel yani 6channel ka audio hona chahiye

Does your reciver have hdmi out?if it has hdmi out then you can connect your laptop to the receiver then connect the receiver output to the tv
