Thank you SO much. my designer compact keyboard-light grey- won't be recognized on my pc bluetooth device when it was turned on and reset and everything when I tried function+F1 key and put it in pairing mode, it finally read thank you SO much

Thanks a million for this video. The manual that came with the keyboard has a mistake which stated that to only press the pairing key to enter into pairing mode. I had a hard time in pairing the keyboard with my pc until I watched your video.

Dear Tidbit, Actually you connected the Keyboard to the PC using the dongle. What I'm looking for is to connect the keyboard actually with the dongle only (without PC). And this dongle then to be plugged in a USB-C Hub and to be used with multiple PC as they are connected to this USB-C Hub. Can you support here?

There's no on off button or LED on my compact black MSFT keyboard. At the back there's an extremely tiny bluetooth button which I long hold but nothing happened. Cannot figure out if pressing keys should connect. The dongle is in my laptop & MSFT mouse is connected. But unable to connect this keyboard for last 2 hours! Can u help?

Hi, is there any way to connect bluetooth keyboard so it appears as USB? I need to get into BIOS and also select OS from boot menu, but bluetooth keyboard is not recognised until OS boots. So I need USB keyboard lookalike. USB keyboards are supported in BIOS. This dongle is bluetooth receiver that needs OS drivers and again would only be visible after the OS loads. I need bluetooth to USB keyboard convertor. Do you know of any such device?

So the computers at work don’t let you connect a Bluetooth device. So if I do this at home with my computer and set it up so that the dongle is connected to the keyboard, if I plug it in at work will it automatically start working since I previously set it up but with a different computer?

Hey Tidbit, good video! I have this keyboard and I have a question (possibly a dumb one) What is the Lock key for? I mean is not working as a ScrLck key, is not logging out, is not doing anything, and when I try to remap it to something else it is recognized as the letter L

The method is the same aside from entering the Apple magic keyboard into pairing (never used one so not sure how to) but the setup is the same on windows 10 - connecting a keyboard.

Hello, this was helpful, but I'm not sure if my keyboard is connected to my BT dongle or is still connected to my onboard BT that my Motherboard has. I'm asking because with this last method I was having a lot of latency problem. Can you please help me with these? Thanks!

take out the Bluetooth dongle, if the keyboard is still connected then that means it's still connected to the motherboard's Bluetooth - disconnect, then reconnect the dongle, and select the dongle as your main Bluetooth received in your settings.

@@Itstollol The keyboard can be paired up to 3 devices. So you could pair it to device 1, and then pair it to device 2 using the bluetooth button. To switch between the two device just hold the FN and F1 button till the led flashes to the next number (3 leds on the F1 key)

@@Itstollol Yeah it goes to sleep after 10 minutes of incactivity but the issue is on wakeup when theres a slight delay after pressing the keybaord which can get annoying at first.

You won't have to reconnect it again after shutdown as long you've already connected it over bluetooth :)

​@@TidbitTek I really appreciate your reply. I recently bought a Bluetooth keyboard (Logitech K380). I am having a hard time with this keyboard. Whenever I turn on my PC I have to reconnect which takes 15 to 20 minutes. I am using a 5.0 Bluetooth dongle. :(

Thats no fun at all, I'm thinking it might be a problem with your dongle. Because I too use a bluetooth dongle for my setup and it connects right away (also have 2 bluetooth keyboards paired). Possibly try putting the bluetooth dongle on another computer and pair the keybaord and do a restart and see if your having the same issue.

I think your title is misleading. This did not connect my bluetooth keyboard to the dongle, just the keyboard to the computer via bluetooth, as you showed us..

For my computer it does not have any bluetooth capabilities. However buying the dongle and installing the drivers, windows then recognizes that the computer has bluetooth. If your computer has on board bluetooth, there should be a separate option to connect to dongle instead of the on board bluetooth. Hope this helps.
