Great Video! Question: Is there a way to still set up a printer and cash drawer if a business owner did not want to have a wireless router and no wired internet connection? The iPad/Tablet is SIM based and they don't want the extra expense of a wired internet connection.

Yes you can get a wireless printer as well to do the same job, but it is going to be almost twice or three times the price of these basic wired printers.

Hi, I'm trying to set up a business and I'm am using the Square Register with an iPad 2. I have a Star Printer (TSP10011) but it doesn't have an Ethernet Connection; it only has a Printer port for a USB connection. The Cash Drawer is the one Square recommended. (APG 1616) I hooked the printer port to the Register Hub via USB. The iPad recognized the printer but would not recognize the cash drawer. I have a few questions: How do I get the iPad to recognize the Cash Drawer? Do I need the TSP 100 Printer? (With Ethernet connection) What is the purpose of the Ethernet Connection? The iPad is WiFi connected. Do I need the Ethernet to finish the Connection for the Cash Drawer? I did a test print on the printer and nothing printed but the paper. I even did a sale and still no print on paper. It's a used machine and I don't know if these printers need ink, do They? . if so, how do I replace it? I thought it's thermal impression to print, no ink. How are the USB printers used? For Windows based POS? As you can see I really need some help with this. Thank you for any help.

Hey Beagle Hardware, I've got a slight problem. I've followed all the steps you outlined in this tutorial, and I can even do the test print with my receipt printer. When I look in the square app to do the "test cash drawer step" it won't allow me to do this. The prompt on the page says "No USB cash drawers found". My drawer is the visario vb320 (the same one you used here I believe), and therefore doesn't have a USB cable. I'm using the TSP100 LAN143 as my printer. If you could help me out, that would be awesome.

Does the tablet (square) send the info to the router through Wi-Fi and the router send that info to the printer and drawer through the cables you connected? I want to use square POS bit in my Galaxy Tab, I have square already. please help!!!!

Good question Chris. No, the Square Stand and accessories work only with that specific type of Star printer.
