I think the Old El Paso girl might have the best set up - Why Don’t We Have Both? Shackle then swivel?? Or as othe YT channels suggest - shackle + some chain + swivel

Not useful information. The swivel should not be attached directly to the anchor , rather to a shackle allowing lateral movement of the swivel. Imagine risking a $500,000 boat with this mechanism?

I recently lost my Lewmar anchor that came installed from my boat manufacturer with a Lewmar swivel for this exact reason - side loading caused the swivel to break. Will use extra chain this time and also do the breakaway rigging. Debating now about staying with Lewmar for the new swivel or going with something that looks stronger like Mantus.
