Super helpful! I thought I'd bought the wrong cable because I was getting the massive hum and I was already looking for a cable with grounding, but my turntable has a built in preamp, so I just switched the cables to a regular input in the amp and it works perfectly!

What do you do when the turntables RCA plugs are the same colour, no other markings, then which one goes into the R or the L on the amp?

Nice video! And what about headphone amp - how to connect it properly if I have an amp, turntable and CD player? I want to be able to listen to my music with headphones late at night and on my speakers at the day.

Thanks for this tip. I just bought a used Denon AVR 485, how can I hook this up with a turntable so I can listen to some wonderful vinyls that I own? I have Bose speakers that have optical outlet that I can use for my output.

Well is that a modern amp thing is it has to have a phono input If not you need a separate phono stage or one of these modern turntables that has a phono stage in it I don’t think most of those are very good K

What if your turntable has a phono button but the outputs on the back where the cable goes only has ones labeled CD and TV/VCR?

Hi. Just noticed I had the 2 rca plugs from my turntable plugged into the wrong sockets in my receiver (left in right and vice versa). Aside from affecting the stereo image, can this do any harm to any of the components? If anyone can tell me, that would be great!

Having moved my hi-fi I now find my turntable is playing very quietly although the CD is working fine, my question is, could it be the pre amp that has gone down? System consists of: Cambridge A3i amp Technics SL B2 T/T Eltax symphony 6 speakers Thanks for your time Bernard Paterson

That's easy, you plug your $1800 phono stage into the aux input.
