Yes, there is a way to use it in order to repair your FC as far as I can remember, though I haven't tested it myself.

I have exactly the same FTDI for minimOSD, but it is totally faulty I think ... I tried to install a lot of FTDI official drivers, but not any of them are working, the adapter is not recognised

But is it possible to do with already torn off USB ? If UART wasnt set to MSP before it fell off?

As far as I know, you will need to build a custom version that has the MSP enabled on tge desired UART port.

Kremer FPV got the replacement from airbot, surprised how esc can be three times more heavy and FC twice lol. I'm afraid to use cheap parts now

Thank u so mich for this Video , i have a question and need your answer , i am trying to connect my Cash register to my Laptop but it does not work , i have bought rs232 Cable usb bevause the cash register habe only Rs232 , the question is , do i need for my Laptop this FTDI ? do i need other Connection tools to can see my register cash and to connect it with my Laptop ? or what u think is the problem ? thanks für an answer

You're welcome. I am sorry but the question is too broad and depends on the interface of the cash register. Maybe it's better to contact the manufacturer and see if they can help.

Hello, good video. I bought an ftdi adapter to save the fc (hglrc f4 flame) after usb error. Now I have again usb connection, but betaflight don't recognize. I used a free uart (6). Should I change the connection on board to uart1 or can I enable msp on uart6 somehow? Thank You for help.

My betaflight says serial port successfully opened with id 4 then closes 10 sec later

Would Betaflight connect to the board? Maybe it's a driver issue.

ok but if you didn't use the usb port at first (which actually happens, your case never happens!), you can't connect to the ftdi anymore because it's impossible (I don't know. . but if the usb is not here), and change the msp port .. so useful this video! lol .. or you have to do that when you get the FC you sacrifice an uart port in anticipation of the possibility that you have an msp port to use maybe a day ?? all this for in case one day the fc no longer has a usb port you can connect it but it is not really a solution in the end, the solution is to be able to connect without usb, with an ftdi c adapter when the usb is better there, not before! that would be useful ..
