How to Connect an iPhone 16 to a HDMI TV or Monitor & Screen Mirror, USB C to HDMI DP Alt Mode Cable

Simple way to connect an iPhone to a HDMI TV or monitor, using a USB-C to HDMI cable. You can do this with any iPhone in the iPhone 16 series or the iPhone 15 series as they have USB-C ports. This is basically a HDMI output for iPhone that will allow you to screen mirror your iPhone to an external HDMI TV, monitor or most HDMI displays up to 4K 60FPS. It's also worth noting that there is no latency between the iPhone and the monitor with this setup, which makes it perfect for gaming. You can do something similar with iPhones and iPads that have the Lightning port. However, these will have latency and will only output 1080p, not 4K 60FPS like the USB-C iPhones 15 and 16 output. Hello. Thanks for the video. I have a weird problem. I am using usb-c to hdmi cable, hdmi to hdmi via a 5 in 1 usb-c dock but what I can achieve is mirroring the screen of the iPhone. The sound keeps coming out of the speakers of the iPhone. Any clues ?

Hi. After everything is all connected try unplugging the HDMI cable from your dock and then re-connect it gain. iOS and iPadOS don't have manual switching for audio and will only use the last audio output that is connected, if it recognises it. Cheers, Dave.

Yes, 4K/60 (59.94) regular 15 is USB2 for data speed.

Yes, Apple have got some way to go to even match DeX. I have the S24 Ultra and it's way better for connecting to my monitors. The processing isn't as powerful as the 16 Pro Max but the full screen 16:9 output for gaming on DeX is worth taking the hit on processing power for. Cheers, Dave.

​​​@@DavidHarryI got S24U instead of Iphone just because of Dex and after few months I started having random black screens along with crackling noises like the monitor is loosing connection. Classic Samsung hooks you up with numbers and features but in reality its full of bugs and just an unstable product. Got a lot of problems with Samsung products, monitor, tv, fridge all been broken. Z flip 5 fell once and a screen had to be replaced.. terrible experience with Samsung
