İn 5.0 you have to never edit controller settings agin if you edit they gonna broken they fix this issiue on 6.0

even i do exact same, when i open the game the buttons dont do anything, im using a ps4 2nd gen controller, i was able to map the buttons no issue but when open the game not recognizing the buttons being pressed

Yeah same here, Dark souls Prepare to die edition doesn't accept any inputs. The controller manager in winlator does see my controller so at this point I suspect that its a game issue

I haven't any problem with my generic cheap gamepad. And Winlator 8.0 has better xinput implementation than 6.1 and 7.1 on par with how they implement it on 5.1.

yeah i'm having issues with my switch joycons on winlator, starting in some games with switch cons connected will corrupt one of the joysticks while the other work, starting any game with a bluetooth/usb mouse with controller connected seems it fixes it for me, if you find any solution to play games with mouse not connected please do share because having 3 bluetooth devices connected is abit too much to run just a controller

I think this issues varies from game to game based on my experience. Maybe the xinput poorly optimized on newer Winlator versions.

This is for Winlator 5.1 due to a bug that it won't work unless you delete and import it. But on newer Winlator versions and it's forks, this isn't needed anymore but the problem is xinput is poorly optimized on newer Winlator versions.

@@EmuStation27 yeah, currently facing an issue with xinput-dinput where in some games one of the analog sticks won't work, thought that was for switch controller since connecting the cons count as 2 bluetooth devices till i tried the ps4 controller and give the same issue, a fix workaround for it is to add a third bluetooth device which is a mouse then restart winlator and start the game, issue fixed but it's annoying connecting extra bluetooth mouse to get controller to work

I hope the devs take a look on how they implement xinput on Winlator 5.1. On Winlator 5.1 I can even mapped my gamepad to function as mouse and keyboard without problem. Starting Winlator 6.1 it doesn't work on some games anymore.

If you set the gamepad to function as keyboard and mouse then it's buggy. I don't know why but on Winlator 5.1 it's working.

Winlator can't run heavy emulators like RPCS3. Maybe PCSX2 but I doubt it. Just play PS2 games AetherSX2 or NetherSX2. PPSSPP is available on Google Playstore
