This is an easy way, with very few CLI interaction to connect a generic Touchscreen display to Rasperry PI running Victron Venus OS like Cerbo GX

Thank you for posting this, it's great info, i will be giving this a shot today. Did you say that there is no dimming possible? My screen has a dial for dimming that isn't working as well.

Thanks for your comment. Yes it is possibile, it depends on the screen capabilities. Check if you can see /sys/class/backlight/…/brightness and try with the echo command like I did in the video. Try to send some numbers and see if the brightness change. My screen does not support this unfortunately, so I was not able to document it. And please let me know!

Hi and thank you again. I was able to get my screen to automatically shutoff with your help. I also don't have an option for screen dimming and was told that HDMI doesn't support it. My screen has a knob to adjust the backlight which i assumed was dimming but i guess not. I'll continue researching nonetheless. The most important thing was getting the screen to timeout and go blank which is awesome. Much appreciated tutorial.
