great video! only thing i would add. that 12v triger has to be a "single pole/ mono rail"tip. some people may have there amp beyond that triger wires reach. when you buy the right lenth. that its easy to buy a "stereo" triger style. (wont work). just sayin.. larry

Thank you.Actually I always wondered why....there’s only one input in those amps.Unbalanced and all that.....I thank you.No magazine in Germany explained it ever.Also ams like emotive brought me to a whole new section to watch over.I wanted to send you some pics I took of my system,for example the Klipsch bipolar above an Velodyne sub.But KZbin doesn’t allow to uploads pics in the comments.Also I wanted to tell you that operate 4 home theater systems in my house.Always experimenting.In my small bedroom I’ve got the subs turned around.They face the wall ,phase to 180^. I did it to be able to access the controls of the subs.I saw your setup with the Onkyo. Put LPF to off and choose a little above 50 Hz on the sub setting itself. This is my favorite bass sound.Cya. I understand you completely, hope and believe that the emotiva receives sufficient "signal" from the onkyo. My Behringer doesn't get it from the yamahan rx-v6. Then it's sad that a good power amplifier should cost as much, or more, than the receiver. Good luck and greetings from Sweden. Thanks for the video.

Each channel has one rca running from a single preout channel to the back of your amplifier and the speaker wire runs from amplifier to your speakers

I'd like to ask some questions regarding the pyle preamplifier pd3000ba. I want to buy more power amps to daisy chain them or run them together to boost my Pyle's power. Or use my pyle as the main control center. Thinking about the eight channel pyle power amp 8000 watt unit to run with my pyle. Mines 3000 watt. So they say. My preamplifier has its own power output for speakers. How would that work?

Is it OK to turn receiver all the way up to 100 then adjust gain until its one under clipping so I know even at 100 percent it won't clip or is that effecting the amps performance? Sounds about the same if I do it this way or only turn to 40 with amp gain turned all the way up

I am trying to set up a home theater for the first time, and of all the research I've had to do, the amp part is what I'm most confused on. Based on what I've read it almost seems like people are split 50/50. I've heard several people say it makes a huge difference in sound quality and I've heard several people say it's absolutely unnecessary to add an external amplifier, and will not make any noticeable difference.

What happens when you only have behind the receiver a few outlet like yours to connect to a 5 channel amplifier but I have 8 cerwing vega Model E-712 front speakers. 4 at the front and 4 at the back. Not including the 4 subwoofers, one centre and 4 surround speakers all around the room? There’s not enough outlet to go to a power amplifier.

You may need a receiver with more preamps to cover your speakers. My receiver is 9.2 expandable to 11.2 with external amplification.

@@elrief1 Sweet. I used to be into high end headphone setups, so I lack knowledge for speaker setups. I assumed I could run multiple amps, but it's one of those things that I wouldn't be surprised if only some A/Vs could. Reason being is I listened to some B&W 901s a while back which had 2 McIntosh monoblock amps, but that's a very high end setup. Thanks man, I appreciate it!

@elrief1 6 жыл бұрын
I know it can be a bit confusing,but it is quite simple. The red and white jacks basically represent left and right,for example Red can be left front preout,and White would be right front preout. All you have to do is run one mono(single) rca wire from lets say right front preout to your amplifier connecting it to one channel. Then at that point you would connect your speaker wire to that channel and run it to your right front spear. Then duplicate that for all speakers you want to connect to your amplifier. But you are limited by how many channels your amplifier has,so if you have a three channel amplifier,you might just do left,right and center channel. If you have five channel,you might do center,left,right,surround L,surround R etc.. The rca's I use is C&E 5 Pack, High Quality Composite Video Cable, RCA Male, Gold plated Connectors, 12 Feet, CNE499241,you can find them on amazon. Take a look to give you an idea of what they are. I hope I hepled,if not shoot me another message,I will help you more. Thanks

You are awesome for taking the time to respond to me. That is so kind, and I appreciate your willingness to help very much. I'm going to look for those cables. I just bought a Denon receiver today with Pre-outs on it since the Onkyo receiver I have doesn't have them. I thought for sure it did, but when I looked to be sure, I didn't see them. So, I'm going to use the Denon with my amplifier. I bought a Carver amplifier and I'm curious how it is going to work. I wonder what kind of a difference I'm going to notice. What kind of difference do you notice with your amplifier? How does it change the sound? Does it just make it so you don't have to turn up the volume as high? Thanks again for your interaction! I'm excited to try this out! I need to buy some of those cables now though.

No that’s the incorrect cables those are 1 to 2,what you need is 1to 1. Look up c&e mono composite cables on amazon,it’s basically a single male to male rca wire. In my case once I added the amplifier to my setup the sound quality got richer more pronounced and bass got deeper. The amplifier basically pushes your speakers as the should be. Try your setup before you add your amplifier, then add it and see the difference. I cannot truly explain it, you will understand when you try both ways. I truly love this hobby,so it brings me enjoyment when I can help someone and or learn new things. So anytime you got a question just shoot. Thanks man!!

Just for clarification. I noticed that the rca preout for the center speaker was one jack from the avr and one jack to the unbalanced "in" to the amp. It appears the other rca connections for the remaining preouts(front l/r and rear surrounds) will require one cable with two rca connections on the avr preout end and one rca connection on the opposite end going to the unbalanced "in" Jack of the amp. Do I have this correct? Kinda new to all this so please have patience. Thanks.

The center speaker only requires 1 jack since it's a "center speaker" and not a left or right speaker. If you had 2 center speakers then you could use them as regular speakers and do left and right.

How do i connect the two systems together without volume up on the one amp and volume up on the other then volume down and volume down, would like to control them at the same time and work together? Is this possible? If so, how? Kind regards all the way from beautiful South Africa.

I'm looking into the Emotiva amp as well. Upon research, there are those that say that amp needs 1.5 volts coming out of the preouts of the AVR for the amp to perform at its optimal. Based on the specs that I found online, the Onkyo 820 only has 1 volt coming out of the preouts. My question is, "Have you noticed any issues with your amp not getting enough volts? I know that your AVR is the 810, but I'm pretty sure that the voltage coming out of yours will be the same as the 820."

Yes, this does. I didn't want to have to fork out lumps of money only to have it not work especially when the amps cost the same if not more then some AVRs. I wonder if the the voltage on the preouts increase as you turn up the volume. Your setup does sound sick so obviously it is working as promised.

@elrief1
@elrief1 6 жыл бұрын
I absolutely do not thinks so. I would always get a lot of distortion from my towers when it was just the Onkyo receiver. I think it is grossly underpowered!!. My plan is to purchase a Marantz preamp,such as the av7703 or 7704 and a additional emotiva amp.
@addonisryan
@addonisryan 4 жыл бұрын
Your Klipsch speakers are extremely efficient and although they can accept more power they do not require enormous power.I do commend you on choosing to provide them with more than enough power ,via a very good amplifier.which will keep the distortion extremely low since the amp will not work hard to deliver enough power for them to sound their best.The power supply is the heart of any amplifier and home theater receivers often involve compromise due to space and budget constraints in order to fit all of the processing and other gadgets while also squeezing in a multichannel amplifier.An external amplifier will ALWAYS be better because it only has one job. Nice video, it was clear and concise, Keep up the good work!

I have a doubt. To connect the front speakers and rears. Do I have to use a Y splitter going from the receiver pre-output to the Amp( the amp only has one input hole) or I'm missing something?, you connected only one cable from the center speaker. Is there no negative or positive on that one. I'm confuse here.
@elrief1
@elrief1 6 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I think your over thinking it. One channel per speaker, no y cables needed. You must purchase an amplifier according to your needs. So if you wanna power 7 channels, you need a 7 channel amp. Next thing, you connect one wire from your receivers preout to one channel on your amp and from that one channel run your speaker wire to the one speaker. You repeat this process till you have all the speakers covered. 1 channel per one speaker.
