So the remote and ground doesn’t go from the converter to the ground with the amp, but from the converter to the amp ?

Yeah the ground wire that is going into the amp from the converter not directly to the ground location, and the remote from the converter is going to the remote spot on the amp.

Does your car have factory amps built into the stereo? Because mine does, it’s a Nissan Altima. I bought a converter similar to yours and have a similar setup. But I only bought it because my sub won’t work when I connect the audio wires to the amp, cuz they’re not matching or sum like that.

So I got a question man hoping it’s not too confusing and someone can help me. So I had my subs wired into my mustang and then wrecked it and was going to put them in my civic while it was getting fixed. Well I was kind of in a rush getting them out and where my loc is connected to my stock sub I kinda pulled the thing off that is hooked to my factory sub. I’m about to get the mustang back and wanna put them back into it. Can I just put that thing back on or will it need to be replaced?

@@CameronSafack I have a 05 Nissan murona I have the stock bose sub but only has 4 wire I haven’t tried that but iv tapped into my back door speaker wire and still have no power to amp or anything I’m a lil confused I tied both positives and both negative into the 2 wire I use to tap into the 1 speaker in the back door and did everything else u said I’m having no luck 😬

Thanks for sharing! Needing to get an LOC now, have been looking for something like this since I got a truck with Sony package last August. Hopefully can pop the P3 back in soon

You should install an in line fuse in the LOC power line. The fuse on the amp power wire (I really hope that was installed) is way too big for the LOC power wire to pop with a dead short. A dead short on that wire will turn it into a lightbulb fast.

Nice build. For the line out. I would advise putting the positive wire to the remote 12volt(blue wire). It will help from draining your battery because it comes on from the radio 12v. That’s how I’d wire it. Be safe and keep up the good content!

What are you saying? It sounds like you're saying that he should hook the remote wire into the constant power supply for the amp. That would keep the amp on all the time. In this setup, the best thing to do is pull the radio and locate either the factory sub amp turn on wire, or find the radio ignition wire. This is best because if the car had RAP (retained accessory power), you won't lose the sub amp when you turn off the car. If you don't have that, or don't want to pull the radio, the next best option would be to tap into the accessory circuit at the ignition. I never liked using audio detection to power the remote.
