Thanks. Very helpful. I had already successfully set-up my Orbit controller, but eventually one station stopped automatically running. I am trying to diagnose, and I wanted to try removing the station wire to a new location and see if that helps correct the problem, but couldn't get the wire out to move it. Your video helped! Note, that string in the wire sheathing is for opening the sheathing so that you don't have to risk cutting it with a wire cutter. Only just learned this myself from another wiring video.

Thank you for your video! I had already successfully set-up my Orbit sprinkler timer. But, recently, one station failed to come on automatically. I wanted to try to diagnose by changing the station wire to a different location in the controller. Couldn't remove the wire. Duh. Your video pointed they way. Note the thread in the sheathing can be pulled down to open the sheathing so you don't have to worry about using a wire cutter. Only learned this today from another video on wiring a controller.

I am having a problem I have the same orbit timer as you. I have 4 zones. One master valve one wire connected to the common white the other connected to zone one. Once I set the timer up. I wait for the zone one to start. It does but zones 2,3 and 4 does not start I have tried everything but nothing works. I am not sure if each zone needs a wire to work in this case I only have two wires coming from the master valve. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi what is the voltage running through the white wire if any. Also I have an issue I did have one master valve which operated a 4 zone sprinkler system the timer was rainbird. Eventually the timer went bad. So I installed a Orbit timer it stopped working. I do believe my wiring set up is wrong. Coming from the outside I have two sets of wires white and red and white and red. Since there are two white wires which one goes to the common . And how do I get this working. Any help would be appreciated.

I have two white common wires from my old timer. Do I put them both in the common terminal of the new timer?

I just replaced a transformer that was burnt out. Should I replace the 0.75 A fuse inside too?
@escompleteyardwork29842 жыл бұрын
If the timer is working with the new transformer then that means the fuse is ok.
@bassetto16032 жыл бұрын
Well it didn’t! So my next guess is the fuse. If not I’ll have to get a new timer.

So if I need to connect a second valve, how would the wiring be?
@escompleteyardwork29842 жыл бұрын
You would take one of the two wires either one and connect it to the white wire and connect the other wire to a colored wire that’s not being used , make sure the wires being used are connected to the timer

let me toss my 2 cents worth in. i strongly suggest that you color code your valves to your timer so that if there is a problem, with one section, you know what valve / wire to check on. when i wired mine up, i used white as my negative, and then color coded the wires out and in my vault 6 (video) i hooked the wires up from 1 on the timer to one on the valves (it was the red wire) and so forth. there are different size wire nuts and get the smaller ones as you need a good fit. weathering and the associated corrosion will effect the flow of electricity. also, dirt in the valves can be an issue so use a screen system, my system has screens throughout, using hose screens to keep dirt out, which i can check annually or if they are not working. not a lot of people have your skill to cut insulation without damage to wire. inside the casing of the (should be) 7 strand wire, 6 valve, one negative return line, is a white string. with pliers you can pull that string and strip the insulation and then cut the tail off and leave the wires exposed you have made a good video and the others are well done. bravo!

If everything is well connected, and two valves doesn’t open with the timer? There is something wrong with the timer? Or with the valves?
@escompleteyardwork29842 жыл бұрын
Sorry for not responding much quicker I was ill, its most likely the valves could be a bad connection or bad valve. What kind of valves are they?
@gustavonieto30352 жыл бұрын
ES Complete Yard Work yes, it was an electrical problem. So, rain bird valves, were well connected, but the problem was the source of power. Thanks for responding:)
