@@webshanks not really: it's all unwanted email, possibly massively sent. Not different from DEMS, marketing newsletters, and all other kinds of spam. The content's level of scumminess doesn't really shift the needle or change the problem.

@@webshanks A cold email is an unsolicited e-mail that is sent to a receiver without prior contact. It could also be defined as the email equivalent of cold calling. Cold emailing is a subset of email marketing and differs from transactional and warm emailing. "an unsolicited e-mail that is sent to a receiver without prior contact." it's the epitome of spam. Perhaps you should research more about spam :) Here's a simple rule of thumb: if the recipient goes "who the fuck is this and why do they feel entitled to send me an email", that's spam. Aneddoticlally, as a manager in the IT field, I lost count of how many "dear Sir, I have a compelling offer for you" cold emails out fo the blue trying to sell me cheap developers went to my spam list in the last 10 years 😁.

I see that you're not a fan of cold email marketing. Or you've failed doing it. There are certain guidelines on how to do it. That's why there's something called business to business. And if you think that it's just a mere email message, perhaps you did not do your homework well.
