Thanks for sharing. Very educative. I'm new to this so I find it very helpful. My only suggestion is that it would be better to connect the cable to the connector/adaptor, before plugging it into the ipad. The ipad's audio output is quite fragile so doing it this way avoids putting pressure on it. Apart from that, I find your video very simple and extremely helpful. Bless you for taking the time to share your knowledge.

Trust me sir Yamaha mm6 covers all kinds of Western sounds as the stock patches of mm6 with little bit of tweaking & layering sounds amazing, worth for live gigs.

With the tweaking that they give you! The Yamaha Motif is where it’s at! I’ve had that Yamaha MM6 since about 2009 or 2008 and I was amazed by it because I’d never experienced anything like it. Years passed and I was introduced to the Motif XF and then the Motif ES. Everything changed! Then, I was introduced to Soft Synths! 😮 It got better and better! I have a lot of videos of me playing different sounds on my Instagram @TheMDElder If you’re on their, check out the different sounds! Oh yeah, check out Korg Module for the iPad! That app is too sweet!

I use to m audio controllers they seem to work better with my iPhone 6 Plus does work with first generation iPad but not as well. I am also using a powered USB hub and from the hub to iPad or iPhone.

Yep GarageBand is amazing it's working for me they have some of the amazing strings sounds , ethic packs which sounds very realistic . I guess that's the best in terms of free bee. Can you recommended more of brass, horns, strings, ethnic instruments app even if it's premium but i want something worth for the price.

Marcellus I noticed in the video that you used a mono 1/8 - 1/4 adapter for audio from the iPad, but stereo 1/4 cable. This is why it doesn't sound right if the cable is fully inserted into the adapter. I suggest changing to a stereo 1/8 - 1/4 adapter from the iPad. This will give you the full stereo output from the sounds from the iPad.

hey quick question. I put it together like you did but, do you have to go to UTILITY and change MIDI to USB or something? what about THRUPORT 1 ? That's how my motif is shown on the screen. I feel like I'm so close to having this looked up

You have to go to UTILITY, MIDI, OTHER, and change it to whatever cable you are using. At least that's how it is on the Motif ES I'm using.

Hariprasad Dhamodaran Greetings Hari, I couldn't find one that was free but I think you can download GarageBand and use some of the instruments for free. I'm not sure though, my iPad no longer supports GarageBand so, I can't check. Check it out and let me know what you find.

Hi Marcellus Elder... thanks for the video. I have a korg i30. It does not have usb to midi but has midi din in out n thru ports on the keyboard . I have an iPad Air 2. Got the camera usb to lightning cable. Guess all I need is this mio I connectivity usb to din in n out cable... do you think this will work on my set up. Can I connect the keyboard with it using garage band on my iPad for recording purposes. Really appreciate it if you can help. Thanks Kenneth

Hello Mr. Kenneth, thank you for subscribing. You can connect the usb midi cable to your Korg i30 🎹 (I found a picture of the back of the i30 online to be sure) once you get it. You'll connect the usb end of the usb midi cable to the camera usb port and then you'll connect the lighting cable to your iPad Air 2. After you've done that, you're all set! 😎👍 Let me know how everything goes and or if you have any more questions.

So, your virtual instruments are on your Ipad and the sound generated when you play the keyboard is transfered to your speakers via the 1/8 in on the Ipad? I have a Nord C2D hooked up to a laptop running Studio one 3 and Keyscape as the Instrument package. I have it hooked up just as you have but get No sound to the speakers.

When using a laptop, the setup is different. You need an audio interface. I use the FireStudio Mobile by PreSonus. It's discontinued now but maybe you can find one on ebay or amazon.

Hey! I guess it depends on what kind of mixer you have. If you have a cheap mixer, it wouldn't sound as good as an expensive one. Also, you want to have the right kind of cables but the mobile version doesn't sound as good as the version for Kontakt. There's a big difference.

I really need some help bad. I just want to hear the sweet sounds of the MkSensation. My MOXF8 at home. I have 4channel Roland Amp.(KRK5 Speakers) . I have No mixer, I have, No controller mini keyboard.. I have a IPAD AIR 2 n have downloaded the MKSENSATION SOFTWARE (just free sounds) on it. Have a lighting connector 4ft and a USB 2.0 A/B cable.(which cord to use?) The guy at BEST BUY sold me. He said I didn’t need the 30pin connector by apple.(said the I pad 2 air do not need it) My keyboard says INCOMPATIABLE USB DEVICE when I try and play the sounds from the I pad air2 (mks) it sounds muddy and won’t play. My USB is In. What cord is on the headphone end and were is it going to? (the amp and what kind of cord?) What do I do to get the software to play? I connected the usb cord n at another time. I plugged them into my MOXF8 to DEVICE , to HOST n to USB. Keep getting ERROR MESSAGE , INCOMPATIABLE USB DEVICE. Please help! Thank You.

+Bronzeey1 Hey, from what i've read, you need an Apple Lighting to USB Camera Adapter (shown in video) instead of the 4ft lighting connector. On the headphone end, you would need an adapter. You would connect one end of an instrument cable to the other end of that adapter and the other end of the instrument cable to the line in of your Roland amp. What kind of Roland amp do you have? Is it a KC?

You need the adaptor that plugs into your lightning port on your phone that has both a lightning port and a regular headphone jack.
