I'm 33 years and just completed my bachelors degree. Even though I'm about 10 years older than my peers, I still want to do graduation photos and want to look as youthful and refreshed in my photos as possible. So, I decided to scour KZbin this week and try to learn how to my makeup professionally. 90% of the youtube makeup tutorial videos are hosted by women in their early 20s that don't have the same issues I do with my skin i.e. hooded eyes, double chin, etc. I am beyond happy to come across your wonderful videos that are easy to follow and I love that you use both professional makeup products and tools as well as drugstore brands. Another bonus is that your face shape and skin tone is very similar to mine! Thank you thank you!!!

I know this video is older, but I had to chime in here. I have found my perfect contour shade! And this video has given me the confidence and the skill tutorial that I needed to keep me doing this. The shade I’m talking about is in a wet n wild eye shadow palette. It’s Called Rosé in the air it’s one of their newer ones. And the shadow I’m talking about is the top one it’s a larger pan and it’s a transition shade but it’s that perfect my tone skin shadow color.

Things I LOVE about your channel: 1) You give advice for wearing everyday makeup in real life AND you actually differentiate between everyday makeup vs. makeup for photography. Most KZbinrs don't, and they're mostly doing photography makeup. 2) You don't use a camera with a crazy soft focus lens and an insanely blurring filter, so I can actually see how a product performs on your skin because your skin looks human. 3) You show us the difference between natural light, your studio light, and flash photography. Lighting is SO important when doing makeup, and it can make an enormous difference in product use and technique (I do a lot of stage makeup). Thank you SO MUCH!!!

@@JessaJaguar me too!! I stumbled across it bc I am a female coal miner...so u can pretty much figure I do not go to work with the normal amount of makeup on that most youtubers teach. I usually put a good lotion on my skin n primer maybe a tinted moisturizer...and powder in my brows, mascara, n chapstick. Now when the weekends come and I'm going out I will put on heavier makeup. Since I have a need for both types of "how to's" Molly has changed my life and made it so much easier!! I'm so thankful for her! She does very thorough work. I am grateful she shares her knowledge to no expense for us. Ohh yeah and her honesty too!!!...its admirable. She shows us the good, the bad, and the ugly!! I get a kick out of her antics showing us some horrible looking makeup. 🤣🤣 I have a room for makeup and I don't and won't ever use all that. But I got caught up in watching the big KZbin channels and them trying a new tarte palette, benefit eyebrow pencils, liquid lipsticks, matte lipsticks, etc....and they always reviewd those items favorably and throwing it out there that we should get the product they just used bc it was gonna make you look young again, and life will be nothing but unicorns and butterflies. HA!!...I scoff at the idea of that stuff nowadays since I'm on a no buy. I remember when my makeup would all fit into a caboodle at 1st then I upgraded to a Victoria Secret makeup bag...now I have drawers full of crap. I'm sooo over the whole ...."this product is my new holly grail, blah, blag, blah" but yet u wld never see it in next months favorite list...or the end of the year favorites. I've gotten smart with my makeup shopping and Molly has helped me use the products I already have. Don't get me wrong about the whole no buy thing, I do run out of items and have to replenish those. I would like to find a great overnight mask....any suggestions? Please and thank you 😁

Great video. Question: should I contour something differently if my mouth/chin ratio is significantly longer than my forehead to even that out? My forehead is 2" but from my nose to chin 2.5" to 2.75". Obviously I should never contour my forehead - thanks for making that clear. Love the way you explained.
@girlgetglamorous3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, Meredith! And apologies for my delayed response. I would do a "normal" contour along the chin and jawline, then go slightly above that and do one more lighter level of contour. Using barely any product and lightly applied. But even the light contour will still recede the jawline to give the appearance of more symmetry with the rest of face. I hope this makes sense! This is what I do with my forehead. A deeper contour right at my hairline, then directly below that a very light contour.

Hi Elke! Thank you for watching, glad it was useful info! Not "stupid" at all, learning the how's + why's are all part of the process. I really love learning the ins and outs of makeup myself :)

This is the first contour video that I have actually found informative and helpful! I’m always having trouble with contouring even though I have been doing makeup for a long time. You have a new subscriber 👍🏻❤️.

I’m under 35 but even tough your tips are helping me a lot. I was tired of watching tutorials because I already knew all of that but wasn’t working at all. It was so frustrating. I’m so glad the algorithms brought me to your channel. yay-! Best regards from Brazil :)

Just starting watching you, and you certainly explain things well! , believe in the natural look and you keep things natural. I am frustrated with "discontinued advertising" I gotta tell ya!

Thank you, glad you like the videos! What is "discontinued advertising?" I don't understand.

The L'Oreal one has a cream equivalent here in the UK (Infallible Sculpt) and it is what I use. Its the perfect shade for me as I find so many others come out orangey on me.

So glad to have finally found a make up artist of a similar age! Thanks so much for putting this out there. I've followed this tutorial and bought some of recommended products and it has helped me so much! Please can you do a tutorial on how to apply eye shadow and any tips on lipstick? I just don't know how to do make up for my aging skin and face! Can you still wear red lipstick? Help!

Check out the Sephora brand contour powder in the shade Second Chance, it is very close to the Fenty Amber stick and layers over it very nicely.

This is the best beauty video I’ve watched! Thank you. I have been wanting to learn facial contouring techniques for a long time and find other videos not realistic for me, not appropriate for 40 something skin, extreme contouring that I would never do. I was laughing at the contouring blunders you showed at the beginning of the video... so me. Thank you again.. SO helpful
