I agree with other viewers. I have an old AC that never had an IR or any remote. Old school, however it qualifies as "ANY AC." The title should be more in the direction of "Any AC that already has a remote or IR remote...?" Agree. It's possible that you are young enough that you believe all AC units have ALWAYS had a remote. Even TVs from old school didn't have a remote. It was not possible. How old? Maybe 20 years on the AC unit. Thanks for your work on a video that is great for what it is, but with a misleading title causing people to watch it for minutes waiting for the part of "Any AC" which of course does not happen. I don't understand how the switch bot is communicating to the IR of the ac unit on the wall? I normally have to point directly at the unit with the remote

A reasonable video, but a misleading title by a long way. You can't control ANY air-conditioner. Ones that don't have IR will not work with a Switchbot Hub or any other IR blaster. Secondly. If you are not lucky enough to own one of the very limited models that have full functionality, that "control" equates to just turning on either heat or cool at one temperature. I definitely do not call that control. Thirdly. It will not work with ANY phone. There are still plenty of what are called "feature" phones on the market that do not have apps and only have the most basic web browsing. This will never work with them. So you can't control just any AC and you cant use just any phone. Click bait fake title

Can't connect My Toshiba and my Riello(Carrier) in both of them SwithBot hub mini propose me 3 models but no one works If i do it manually it propose me to learn only ON and OFF What i my doing worng ?

Good Video.. What would be the area covered by the hub ? I tried the Broadlink IR/RF device but the range is restricted to line of sight. So a large 4 Bedroom + Living+ Family + Theatre would need 7 Broadlink hubs . Is this different ? Does it need line of sight to the A/C or others ? Appreciate your assistance.

Love your videos but I think the title is misleading. I am struggling to get my AC changed to a smart device. I have a mitsubishi par-21maa, which is non IR and only has a 2 wire link to the FCU/split unit. If anyone else has come across a replacement or work around for this controller to make it smart (zigbee/wifi etc...) I would be most grateful for suggestions/comments.
