درحقیقت رات کا اٹھنا نفس پر قابو پانے کے لیے بہت کارگر اور قرآن ٹھیک پڑھنے کے لیے زیادہ موزوں ہے۔ (المزمل -6) اس کا ایک مطلب یہ ہے کہ رات کو عبادت کے لیے اٹھنا اور دیر تک کھڑے رہنا چونکہ طبیعت کے خلاف ہے اور نفس اس وقت آرام کا مطالبہ کرتا ہے ، اس لیے یہ فعل ایک ایسا مجاہدہ ہے جو نفس کو دبانے اور اس پر قابو پانے کی بڑی زبردست تاثیر رکھتا ہے ۔ اس طریقے سے جو شخص اپنے آپ پر قابو پا لے اور اپنے جسم و ذہن پر تسلط حاصل کر کے اپنی اس طاقت کو خدا کی راہ میں استعمال کرنے پر قادر ہو جائے وہ زیادہ مضبوطی کے ساتھ دین حق کی دعوت کو دنیا میں غالب کرنے کے لیے کام کر سکتا ہے ۔ دوسرا مطلب یہ ہے کہ یہ دل اور زبان کے درمیان موافقت پیدا کرنے کا بڑا مؤثر ذریعہ ہے ، کیونکہ رات کے ان اوقات میں بندے اور خدا کے درمیان کوئی دوسرا حائل نہیں ہوتا اور اس حالت میں آدمی جو کچھ زبان سے کہتا ہے وہ اس کے دل کی آواز ہوتی ہے ۔ تیسرا مطلب یہ ہے کہ آدمی کے ظاہر و باطن میں مطابقت پیدا کرنے کا بڑا کارگر ذریعہ ہے ، کیونکہ رات کی تنہائی میں جو شخص اپنا آرام چھوڑ کر عبادت کے لیے اٹھے گا وہ لامحالہ اخلاص ہی کی بنا پر ایسا کرے گا اس میں ریاکاری کا سرے سے کوئی موقع ہی نہیں ہے ۔ چوتھا مطلب یہ ہے کہ یہ عبادت چونکہ دن کی عبادت کی بہ نسبت آدمی پر زیادہ گراں ہوتی ہے اس لیے اس کا التزام کرنے سے آدمی میں بڑی ثابت قدمی پیدا ہوتی ہے ، وہ خدا کی راہ میں زیادہ مضبوطی کے ساتھ چل سکتا ہے اور اس راہ کی مشکلات کو زیادہ استقامت کے ساتھ برداشت کر سکتا ہے ۔
