What do you control your home theater setup with?

In the past i've gone with the ROCCAT Sova, which was my go to, since i also played games from my couch. Since i purchased my Steamdeck i play everything with a controller and would use a tablet for a home theater solution.

Interesting, never heard of the Sova. I'll have to look into that!

You could pair a touchscreen tablet to your PC for use as a trackpad, keyboard, remote control for tapping on the screen the movie, game, music, photos, or whatever else you want to use. It shouldn't be any different than using the screen of the tablet as a 2nd monitor. You might have to get HDMI casting hardware to enable that level of functionality. An option to that is install Dragon's voice command and control software to the host PC. Then you can use any microphone you please that is tethered or paired to your PC. Or even wear a microphone. Maybe go full Star Trek to install mics all over the house so you can say "Computer" to control whatever you want it to do. Although you might want to change the command word or phrase to something other than that.

That would be pretty cool! Would love to feel like Pickard and even ask for a tea, earl grey, hot😎 Thanks for the comment!

I avoided the Logitech keyboard for the same reason -- the size makes it unwieldy. I use a Rii with both of my media systems. It fits right in my game controller storage and is very easy to use. I love how clicky the mini-keys are, reminds me of the old Droid 1 - 4 phones

The Rii does look pretty cool!! Definitely on the list to try soon!

I used the Logitech for a few years, then I switched to the Rii and have been using it for a few years now too. I'd say the Logitech works better, but is more cumbersome. I like that the Rii is more like a remote, but its' range and glitchiness at a distance pisses me off a lot. I'm weary of devices that want to "listen" to me, but I'd love to hear about a better manual remote kind of like the Rii.

KDE Connect in many ways really is the best of both worlds. Phone keyboard, track pad, and media controls, plus more.
