@@tiablasangoriti8347 thank you for asking! I am well, but I have been super busy and stressed out. I bought a home in the mountains! With 3.5 acres of forest, I love it. The hike buying process and packing and moving all started august 1st and it's been extremely hard to pack up a huge house and still work full time. Having been stressed out is an understatement. I'm almost done with everything but still so much to do. Missed most of hunting. We have this weekend and next. I went hunting today, it was a née area, haven't seen anything, discouraged but I wasn't even expecting anything lol. I have 2 videos that I have filmed forever ago and I'm hoping I can get one done by Wednesday.

@@Huntress308 Congratulations on closing on your new Forest Paradise. Yes, buying and selling a property can be psychologically destabilizing even though it is a upward move. I know it well. I bought, sold and renovated three of my family's properties in my life. I'm so glad you're ok. that type of stress(the Change of our Place of daily Peace) is "normal" and predictable. It has to do with uprooting from our home base and trying something new. It causes anxiety in every human being. Marianna, you are competent, resilient and strong. You'll make it through this life transition with shinning colors. Let me know if you need any support during this time of transition to ventilate and get anchored, centered and grounded again. Take care & Be Well. Always Remember, You are an inspiration to thousands of us. Best wishes Marianna.

I just bought a 10x10 will be home this winter in Maine. I'm hesitant to go through the roof with the pipe.. so it's in the side for me. Good video thanks for posting, good pups you have there. Take care
@Huntress3082 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! The pipe will be just as good in the wall, but I didn't want to do that because the corner, where I was going to put it is not that tight. And you don't want the tent wall moving with the stove in, especially if it's windy, that part will move a bit. The sides of my walls are all covered with doors and windows so that wouldn't work so that why I went with the roof. Thank you for watching ! And let me know how it turns out

I have been thinking about getting one of these tents. Trying to decide on the size and how many windows I want. I was also considering a stove. Thank you for showing the installation. It looks like a good placement of the stove. Not sure what you had under the stove to protect from Sparks when you open the door? Surely you will have company sometime soon when you camp out. Someone who loves the outdoors as much as you and cute blonde haired ladies. Lol.
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
This tent is 8 person so it's pretty big. I got it because I had 3 big dogs and they take up time. It also has the room for the stove and staying inside comfortably, cooking or hanging out if it's snowing or raining. So I think this translates to 3-4 people being able to be in there super comfortably. Now if it's just me and 1 dog (maybe 2, my oldest passed away ☹️) and with no stove, it seems pretty big, but it's ok. The windows will really come in handy when you camp in the summer and you can open them to get some breeze to come in. I had cardboard under the stove and it worked out ok but for next winter I will get something proper 😊 Thank you so much for watching!

Good job on the video. Happy to see someone else who loves and respects the outdoors. I have both Springbar and Kodak tents. My next addition is a wood burning stove. Will you please give me a few pro and cons, and you would do differently.
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Thank you! For a wood burning stove make sure you get the right size for your space. I recommend Colorado Cylinder stoves, that's the one I have. I gave them the dimensions of my tent and they told me what size I should have. I love the stove. You will be very happy with it. Here is the link of a video when I used it kzbin.info/www/bejne/epO3qYugo7CnsNE it was great. Cooked my food on top of the stove and heated up that tent perfectly. I wouldn't do anything differently. You can put the pipe through the roof like I did or through the side.

Very nice!! This type of heat source is much better than using a mr buddy propane heater. Mr buddy doesnt produce a "dry heat" like a wood burning stove. With the stove you have you could rig up some sort of "clothes line" to dry out wet/damp jacket/shirt etc etc. Very envious of your setup.
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Al Pulley thank you so much! And yes I totally agree with what you said about the heat source. And on top of it, propane heater don't work well or not at all in cold weather and high elevation. They have a low oxygen sensor shut off so a year ago I froze my butt if in my tent. On two separate camping trips lol. Wood burning stoves will always work
@OnTheFritz6024 жыл бұрын
Excellent video! Have had my eye on that tent, and was wondering if putting in a stove was *doable* w/out too much trouble. That tent is much nicer than my 12x12 Cabelas Alaknak with a center pole that's always in the way.
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I love this tent. A pole in the middle may be in the way but I'm sure you can work around it. Putting in the vent definitely changed everything for camping in the snow / cold, and if I could do it, anyone can 😊

@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Raymond Gorney Jr thank you. I didn't this first time, it I was going to put down a second layer of tarp, or rug it at least a cardboard layer (although it's paper, I'm not sure how much it would help lol) There were no sparks flying or coming out, but yes, it would be a great preventive measure

Yes! I made a video about how to do this Here is the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaWUZoWsaM-ShtU You can do it where the pipe goes out to the side or the top but with this tent I couldn't do the side. It's just not always100 % tight on the side walls or corners and due to all the work does and door i have limited space. But the top works for me very well

I bought the 2 person Flexbow from Kodiak, I Love my Kodiak Canvas tent so much, I'll never go back to those cheap Walmart tents LoL, your accent is very beautiful, where are you from, sounds German, but something else coming through in your accent I can't put my finger on. Did you have any leaking problems with putting the pipe in the top of the tent, I want to do this but kind of worried about leaking.
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for watching! And you're right, there is a huge difference between the Walmart quality and something great, like Kodiak. I never had problems with any leaks in the tent. I was concerned because there is a very small space between the pipe and the fabric but, no, no problems. why did you put the stove jack in the roof instead of the side wall. what happens if it rains? You did a horrible job installing the stove jack. your tent is ruined and will leak even if you have the stove jack flap over the hole. lol
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Well, thank you for your lovely comment haha. No, the tent is not ruined. It doesn't leak. The jack can go on top or it can go on the side. This tent has windows and doors on every side and then the corners kinda curve so there was no safe or good place to place the jack. If you look up more videos, pictures and do some research, you will see that it can go both ways. Thank you for watching !

@@Huntress308 you also need to cut the canvas back closer toward where you stitched it. Its going to dry out from the heat of the stove and catch on fire. The canvas needs to be at least 6 inches from the stove pipe. You obviously didn't do your research. I manufacture canvas hot tents for a living. Kodiak flex bow tents aren't designed for stoves. The waterproofing they use is highly flammable. Thats why they don't come with stove jacks. When they catch on fire they go up like a Christmas tree
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
@@backcountryagenda5507 if I cut back, it will definitely leak lol. But so far I haven't had any problems. I always touch the canvas around the pipe and it's not even hot.
@edwardnigma65684 жыл бұрын
@@backcountryagenda5507 Well so much for Kodiaks amazing water proofing because my tent still got moldy. Thats after leaving it out for a week to dry out. Your logic made sense about the waterproofing being flammable, but Kodiak also has a tent that comes with a stove jack, on the roof. The roof pitch in this tent is similar angle to the flexbow and the material uses the same waterproofing. That tent doesnt leak or catch on fire. To me you just sound like some opinionated guy who likes to make himself feel superior to others. I bet your "friends" secretly hate you.
@backcountryagenda55074 жыл бұрын
@@edwardnigma6568 The lodge comes with the stove jack. I have that tent and a flex bow and the pitch on the lodge is much steeper than the flexbow. Also she attached the stove jack but did not cut her canvas far enough back from the stove pipe. its only a few inches. After sewing on the stove jack you need to cut the canvas all the way back to the point where she . sewed the stove jack. I have a hard time believing that you have trouble finding a camp partner
@Huntress3084 жыл бұрын
Well it's more complicated than you would think. Most girls are not into the outdoors. Guys who are married or have girlfriends, well, why would they camp with me? That would be weird. Their wives could come but they never want to. That leaves single guys and a lot of them get the wrong idea, thinking camping may be code for something else lol. Having said that, I do have quite a few friends I can go hunting with and had a few friends in the past who I could go camping with and there was no awkwardness or anything weird going on. I lost all these friend to their new girlfriends lol. So that's my story 😊

Yes it can be hard. My philosophy in life is that I will wait for no one. If I waited, I would have been sitting at home for 4 years. This way I experience things on my own and honestly I have come to really enjoy my time alone in the outdoors. People have different camping styles and it doesn't always match mine. Of course I'm all about tolerance, people are different, so no judgment here but my point is, being alone in nature is really not a bad thing 😊
