Drum companies need to explore different methods of stopping the bass drum from moving. You are a genius. Some of us are more about function than looks. I hope a company that claims to care about function gets a hold of this video. Great video!!

I appreciate your kind words! Thanks so much for watching! For me it’s function > looks any day of the week!! As for companies working to stop bass drums from moving, I highly recommend you try out Kbrakes!! Prior to being an artist with them, I bought them and right away could never go back to regular bass drum spurs. These things will NOT move on you! If you check out my video “3 MUST HAVE tools for tour, you will see it’s function and man, does it ever make a difference! Here’s a link if you’re interested 👊 kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYbSfItvZr1ofJY

@@Joshstix95 I’d have to agree man! Really fit the vibe of the early-mid 2000’s with the 24,13,16,18 configurations & they sounded even bigger!! That’s rad about the snare you had! I’d love to have a 14x8 matching snare of it! Mine came with a typical 14x5.5!

Just use a Pearl JG16 conversion kit-way better than the DW over engineered cradle thing.

Yeah I dig it! & what do you mean “make drums quieter”? That sounds more like a dynamic issue than a kit issue..
@SmugSuspenders4 жыл бұрын
@@ClaxtonDrums I just put up my Pearl Export that I bought some five years ago and never used, and it was loud as hell :p (In a bad way, for me, since I'm now used to electronic drums). But I've ordered a whole bunch of dampening stuff, but am thinking of buying a smaller hihat and snare (12 inch), and maybe a smaller ride (18 seems to be the smallest available) since I'm no longer a metalhead and abhor the idea of playing so loud that you have to wear ear protection :p

if you cant afford a riser or claw hand pedal duck tape 2 books together and put 2 screws in the top where the drum will be resting and the hoop will catch on the screws then cut a slit in the bottom spine book and stick pedals clamp thew it and tighten it itll work just fine .

Can you keep the floor tom reso?
@ClaxtonDrums4 жыл бұрын
Totally! Heck, you can even just take the legs off, put it on the the conversion stand and use it right away! Only problem with that is you’re probably only gunna get a bop sounding bass drum out of it because of no dampening in it, and you couldn’t stick a mic in it without a hole, but it’s not to say you can’t have one out front of it! Always fun to experiment with this stuff! 😄

I came here to see how to attach fest and drum pedal to Tom. You used special tool so this was actually not so helpful for me :/ would be nice to see how to do it without that stand as well also since that is a nother extra piece I got to carry. Looking to have everything attached to the kick
@ClaxtonDrums3 жыл бұрын
Without some sort of stand, you’re stuck drilling out your floor Tom to add bass drum spurs and some sort of Tom mount drilled into the top to have your toms attached. Really don’t recommend such things by any means. You also would need to buy some sort of conversion hoops to allow the pedal to be attached to it. For what it’s worth, I’d just grab this stand. It’s lightweight, folds up, and is impossible to screw up vs doing all the things I said above.

But now... what do you do for a floor Tom?:( convert the kick to a floor Tom?:)
@ClaxtonDrums6 жыл бұрын
Sam Alvey I have a 16” floor Tom that I would use. For anyone else that doesn’t have an extra, if you have two rack Toms you could always use the bigger one as a floor, or, maybe the gig only requires kick hat and snare! Many possibilities!
