Why are people giving this a thumbs down? It's a great presentation and answered my questions. Furthermore, there aren't many showing this side of the connection.

I know I stumbled onto this 4 years later and I’m going finally somebody’s making a video about XLR speaker connections.

A really excellent, detailed video with some great tips on soldering. Thank you for posting.

Been there done that, everything‘s a hammer when you just got a hammer. Like I said I’ve been there I’ve done that drill bits don’t necessarily drill sideways. In case anybody else is doing this a Forrester bit will be able to go through a new hole even if there is a current hole. Another option is doubling up your hole saws putting one inside another one that way the inner one rides the old hole while the outer one cuts the new hole.

I like how you draw a template for the hole to be cut, but then just proceed to freestyle it. Get a bigger drill bit instead mate.

And use a vacuum on the drill to help reduce shavings falling into the cabinet.

since this is a ported box, it falls out of the box, but i get your point.

Hi, do you have a video on where to purchase these XLR adapters?… I have an xr18 in a box, rather than open the box I would like to have all my cables plugged in and had the adapters attached on outside just to plug in
@dillonnathuram84843 жыл бұрын
I didnt solder mines I used spade connectors on them and electrical tape to separate them from touching each other in the box
@vlrdngr4911 Жыл бұрын
I would have done the same, especially in this case. No room to work in.

Love the video brother 💯 I have question, I'm working on the same project but my xlr cable has 3 cables (white, red & open wires) & the speakon has 2 positives & 2 negatives, what should I do?
@cbinet123binet94 жыл бұрын
You put the red wire with the white wire together, they will go to the 1+ on the speak on connector. The other wire should be the ground this one goes to the 1- on the speak on. Hope this helped.

great video keep them going....need some videos on powering up amps (type of distributors or extension cords or diy distro boxes or quad boxes etc)...please and thanks....if you have more projects just buy a pack of hole saw for precise drill bits for speakon/xlr chassis and tweeters......and if your building a rack mount panel that doesnt have knock out holes......use a metal reamer.....save some time on the hours and hours on the sound system adjustments.....

Does anything need to be done differently when using 4 pole cables?
@ecologicaltime4 жыл бұрын
same procedure, just x2. Just make sure you keep polarity correct.

ecologicaltime thank you for responding! So pins 1+/1- connect to +/- on the speaker but what about pins 2+/-? I’m currently putting together passive subwoofers that I’d like to run bridged mono from my amp but I want to make sure I’m not going to mess anything up
