With all my equipment setup to use the new Pioneer style hydraulic connectors, I was going to have to get adaptors or do this remote changeout. I hope that this video will show you what to expect and how to do the job. It was not that bad and only took about an hour from start to finish. That includes the cleaning and all the oops that went along the way.

I just bought 2 sets and have been hesitant to tear into it. Thanks for the video, it looks like a very approachable job

Not to bad just make sure you use the same style o-ring or square-ring.

Next time I rebuild the SCV's on my 4020 I am going to switch them to Pioneer also, that way everything is the same. You made it look simple

Other than being a little on the messy side (oily) it was not bad at all. There just not cheap. I mail ordered these from Sloen Express at just under $150 for the set. After doing this one I could probably switch both of the other ones in about an hour. It took a little bit to read and follow the instructions, if you know what I mean, lol.

Thanks for watching, that is nice how Pioneer design these to work with the old setup.

Thanks for posting. My 1086 already had these installed when I bought it, I was wondering how big a job it was. On my 1486 I use the Pioneer adaptors that plug in to the stock IH connectors. They don't work too bad but these are better.

I could see myself losing the adapters that's why I chose to change them out. Other then $150 from Sloan Express the job hasn't to bad.

Is there any reason you cant just buy female pioneer ends and attach them to the tubing in place of the block?
@TAHDAHFarm
@TAHDAHFarm 3 ай бұрын
There would be nothing to support the tubes. If something would happen and they need to disconnect, it would rip the hoses and tubes to pieces.

That is one of those time that you say it in your head and you all are to read my mind, lol. They are the IH style remotes and all my equipment has the standard ISO Pioneer style. I could get adapters to convert my equipment hoses but the 1st time I have to replace them because I loose them it would be the same money. This way they will be all the same. Of course I still need to do the other 2 but for this spring I can get by with just one. I would like to build hydraulics for the wings on the field cultivator but that will not get done before I need to work the fields.

I want to see how the remote cables are locked in to the pioneer style connector. thanks.

It is a push in and then just pull out. It now works the same way my Kubota remotes are. This will make everything the same way to connect.

I'm trying to do this exact same thing on my 766D. When I got the "guts" out of the housing... I can't see where the new gaskets go. Nor did I see any old gaskets come out, or did you have to peel the old gasket out from inside the housing? Let alone weather to use the flat or the round? Mine were pouring out fluid all of a sudden when hooked to my loader, so I bought this exact same kit. Thanks in advance
@TAHDAHFarm
@TAHDAHFarm 2 жыл бұрын
You have to peel them out. As far as round or flat, If I remember correctly, you will use the same thing that you pull out. I remember that the instructions that came with mine told you how to know which one you need to use. Hopefully that helps and good luck my friend.

Nice job on this. If I have the old style, I am assuming I would need to change both ends?

Yes, I changed these out to the standard Pioneer style so all the connectors are the same on all my equipment. Thanks for watching and commenting.

These did not work for me. It was an easy job but got them installed and they do not work on my 1086. There is no lever to open the ball valve. A bad engineering design is my guess. I tried to get the system primed but just made a huge mess all over my shop. I paid $600 for all three remote conversions and none work. Now I’m going to have to tear into them again and replace the old ones with some new seals and just buy the adapter. I’ll have to spend about 20 bucks on floor dry to clean up all the hydraulic fluid, buy new hydraulic fluid and a whole bunch of time I’ve wasted on this terrible project. I hope I didn’t do any damage to my hydraulic pump trying to get the system primed. What a disaster. I just hope I can get a refund for these parts I bought for 600 bucks. Huge huge mistake

I'm not sure why you had all these problems. The only thing I have had was that the rubber dust covers started to tear and get caught in the connection. I cleaned it out and made sure that it was not in the way, and I have had no problems at all. They work great for me. As far as priming the system, I used a short hose with male ends and plugged it in. No problem, and no more oil leak than what you get from disconnecting normally. There is no need for the handles anymore. Sorry for what problems you are having. Thanks for watching and commenting.

What would be the advantage of changing them to pioneer ?
@TAHDAHFarm
@TAHDAHFarm 5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure when but Pioneer became the ISO standard years ago. My grandpa had Fordson tractors and when he got a John Deere he switched everything to the Pioneer so all the equipment is setup for Pioneer. So, either I get some adapters or change them to be the same as all the equipment that I have is set up.

@@TAHDAHFarm All the tractors since the 1990s have had the ISO type which is standard across all tractors in the US now and its funny my 1957 Famall used them but all my 66-86-88 series were Big IH and the ISO was an option on them so i laugh when my New Magnum and the 65 year old Farmall both had them as standard
@TAHDAHFarm
@TAHDAHFarm 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info, I believe that the Fordson from the 50's and early 60's used the ISO standard also. That is why grandpa changed the John Deere.
