Most kiwis eat mussels raw with lime or lemon, cooked in a chowder with veges, deep fried battered, cooked in cream on it own or with other seafoods, that’s what I do...Thanks for always mentioning NZ when using or cooking our green lipped mussels.

Hey im from New Zealand. We eat our mussels alot of ways. Mussel fritters with mayo and bbq sauce on top, mussel chowder - but u have to make it the simple way. Which is - dice ur mussels up, quick fry with onions then add a tspn of mild curry and mix till add combined lastly add whole cream and thicken with cornflour. Mmm yum. Eat with fry bread and dunk it in ur chowder 👌👌👌 (search maori fry bread with yeast on youtube) u will love it 🤞. Another on its battered mussels, u can make them at home or get them with ur fish n chips at the fisheries. Another is bake them in over covered with sweet chilly sauce garlic anf coconut cream, pretty much how u done ur mussels on here. Only a lil sneak peek of some of the ways we make them here. Hope u will try some out x
