I frequently view your videos and/or blog for your spin on popular DIYs, and am never disappointed! I tell all my sewing friends to “see how Jan Howell does it before you start!” I purchased your pattern and printable card PDF, and it is nicely designed and download was trouble-free. Thank you!

I made my brother one for his 69th bday yesterday. I used a cute fabric and made hm a little chart for cooking instructions. He liked it!

Love the tip of holding the thread as to avoid the fabric jumble on back when top stitching! You are great. Thanks.

Thanks. Didn’t know about wrap and zap. Yes, we all buy a sewing treat or gift for ourselves. Mine was a rolling sewing chair so I can scoot from one machine to another. I need to try holding onto my threads❤️

I had an Oliso a few years ago; I hated it!! It didn't get very hot, and then it stopped popping up on those little legs. I finally gave it to a friend. She didn't care that it didn't get very hot and didn't pop up. 😀 I love the fabric you used in this bag! Thank you for showing how easy this would be to make.

Thanks for the information. We'll see how long this iron lasts. They just don't make things like they used to.

I LOVE this. Thank you. I love your channel. I love sewing, but struggle and you make it so easy. Love your step by step. I am going to make one of these bags for my mom for Mother’s Day. It will be great for making dinner time prep so much simpler. 💕😊

I noticed your iron straight away! My quilt shop, here in Australia 🇦🇺 got them in last year, pink & yellow, and, apparently, they have been selling well. You come up with the coolest projects, Jan, and this one is no exception. I have checked and can get the wadding, so I will be making some of these…a really useful and fun item. Thank you…👏🏻

Thanks for this Jan. I didn’t know potato bags were a thing but definitely going to give this a go. I have exactly the same iron here in England, I also treated myself 👏 I have been wanting one for years and finally got one two years ago. Love your videos 👏👏

I don’t use wrap and zap, but a 100% cotton batting with no scrim. It’s made by pellon but it says it can only be heated for 3 minutes, which isn’t long enough to cook a large russet. I dampen a paper towel and wrap the potato and microwave it,it steams

Does anyone have a tip for getting crispy potato skins without cooking them for the hour in oven? Love this bag but I need crispy skins. Any ideas are appreciated.
@esbs3268 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same way. So, I plan to cook them for a few minutes in the microwave and finish them in the oven to get the crispy skins.

I love crispy potato skins as well... maybe oil the skins and stick in an air-fryer? I haven't tried it, I just got my first air-fryer... this will be on my todo list. If you beat me to it, let me know if it works! xoxo

@@JanHowell You’re welcome. I know how important these links are to a small business owner. It was to the wrap and zap. It went to the iron. I think the rotary cutter was the other one.
