Hi Joyful Cook, Good evening . This is an appreciation post , I just made my own Ofe Onugbu, and I am so proud of myself, but I must acknowledge my teacher . Thank you so much . My mum and brother are currently enjoying their meal with Fufu . The whole house smells so sweet, family members gather here, let's eat together.

Try using yellow pepper. It does amazing things to bitterleaf soup. Love your method. I've never tried blending my cocoyam, but i will henceforth. Thank you!
@anniefelaz22210 ай бұрын
It's smoothier than the pounded one
@ebeleokoye58963 күн бұрын
Yes, one Nsukka (yellow pepper) does wonders to the soup. Do not blend ur cocoyam, blending makes the cocoyam soft. Use mortar and d consistency will be good for the soup. Small cocoyam pounded in a mortar will thicken the soup faster than the one u blended.
@UleluRuthkitchen Жыл бұрын
I love how prepared the cocoayam, i can't cook any food without my yellow chilli pepper, the flavour is heavenly. I love the consistency of the soup, liked already and genuine subscriber. ❤

can something else be used instead of the cocoa yam?
@ebeleokoye58963 күн бұрын
For bitter leaf , we anambra people use cocoyam. No achi or any other thickener. It must be cocoyam and pounded in a mortar and not blended. There is this taste achi or any other thickener gives the soup , even the soup consistency will not be so good if u use achi. Cocoyam blended will not thicken the soup just like d one u pounded in a mortar. Bitter leaf soup is not a soup u cook under 30mins. It takes time. U put ingredients one after the other. I did not see the woman washing the bitter leaf the way we do it.
