How long do you cook the beans with edible potash? Me being married to an Igbo family in abroad and I tasted this type of beans and loved it. The only issue I had with it was how long it took to cook. They said it’s cuz it was dry, the lady cooked for almost 36hrs, I don’t have that time😂. I cook my food(main meal and dessert) within 2hrs or less, so when I was told the hours I said, mba o😅😅, I learnt that.
@ChinweUzomaАй бұрын
Nope, if it is dry you need to soak it overnight and then cook with edible potassium and it will be done in 40 to 45 minutes.

Is the edible potassium a must
@ChinweUzoma Жыл бұрын
Yes and no, I normally use traditional ngu from burnt palm seed heads which is the best. But not easy to get if you are not in Nigeria mainly Eastern part you might struggle to get it. It is important because it serves as tenderizer to soften the seed. However, little edible potassium once in a while can not do you anything. Much ❤️ ❤️ ❤️.

All this nonsense you are making in ugwa is bull crap. Pls stop. Cook ugwa plain clean white just add salt and pepper to taste. Ugwa is complete there is no need for all these additions. The pearl beauty is lost with the addition of all these extra.
