What I learned was if I open it as administrator, I can close it. All went well except for one movie where I couldn't get the subtitles. You're a good teacher!

Nevermind - It DID work. I assumed since I saw the _ts folders when I opened the disc on my computer that it didn't work. But since I knew I followed the steps correctly I tried it in my DVD player anyway and it worked just fine! DVD+R do work with these steps. Thank You shrocky2!! I went through about 5 discs trying things on my own, you made it very easy.

@TheBlamedSaints Change the "save to" option. Your saving it on your drive, change it to desktop or some other location. Hope this helps

Thank you for a great and clear instructions! I have a question relating to DVDShrink. I used it to backup a dvd and what happened is that the output .vob files have a text overlay of the file name at the beginning of the file. I looked everywhere in the preferences but could not find if that was an option that I can turn off. I googled the subject but did not find any references. Do you have any idea why this is so, and if and how I can either remove the text overlay from the shrinked dvd? I am using vlc player to view the video.

Awesome.. You made it sooo easy.. Thank you.. My first file is/was over 7,000. When I moved it over to shirnk, the main file was only 4463 after I unchecked all subtitles and extras. It still only gave me 80.1 percent. I am sure it will work. I always use ConvertXtoDVD when burning. It really works well. Again.. Thank you so much for making it so easy and uncomplicated.

Good Vid, clear instructions but one thing confuses me lots. Why do you use DVD decrypter at all when DVD shrink will decrypt the DVD? Im currently trying to copy a TV box set (bit more complex than a movie i think) and all im doing it scanning a disc on shrink, saving it as you described (thanks!) then burning it with whatever software. When I scan with DVD decrypt it comes up with 'number of layers 2', i understand what this is but what are its copying implications?

still after you shrieked the iso, it wasnt small enough. so is it possible to compress it to for example 700 mb file, just like what they do when we download movies from torrent sites ??

Also it seems that when I've copied a disc, with 4 episodes on it, the disc just wants to play through whole like a movie with no access to menus. This doesn't actually both me much, esp missing the extras, but out of interest how do I put them there? Sorry if these questions are basic - im clearly not as computer literate as you it would seem! Good vid though and did help although, like I said at the star,t the use of DVD decypter at all vexes me. Why not just use shrink alone? It does work!

@TheMarabouStork I DVDshrink'd the MDS file and it split the movie into 6 seperate I00, I01, I02... files. how do I make it just 1 file?

you could also use something like PowerISO to mount ISOS to your drive. but it costs money for the full version

Can you help me out?A family member made a dvd of her party and I used DvdCrypter to put it on my computer.Then I converted it to an AVI format to edit with movie maker,but the audio of the party is slower than the video.Like,she dances before the music starts when that actually didn't happen.Any clue how to fix that?

Question for ya, I am trying to copy a season dvd from a boxset... so is there a way that I can copy each episode seperately, but put them on teh same disk and have for format the same of the orgional dvd? I may have asked this question to you before so it may be a double, but in dvd fab if the trial expires, you can only use the hd decrypter? I think if you use this one then you must use dual layer dvds and cannot select dvd 5.

@WickedKnight07 Wait a minute you mean the blank discs for media right? You said that you use DVD-R and you dont get any glitches right? I used DVD+R so I did use the wrong type of media.

@shrocky2 Yes you can, i've used it to burn backup DVDs. It's great in case you ruin your disc. That way, if something happens to the disc, you only ruin the backup not the original.

i was able to use the DVD Decrypter to burn to a CD(with the help of your video-thx); I'm having a ruff time trying to import home videos to a software pkg for editing (trying to use Sony Movie Studio). any sugestions would be greatly appreciated. also, in your video u stated if video is over 4.7 gb the dvd shrink would b needed; could that be bypassed using 8.5 gb DL disk or do u have 2 use dvd shrink in that case?

Why do you prefer the windows burner over the DVD encoder's burner? Do you advise not to use the DVD encoder's?

Hi Steve. I had a couple of quetions regarding dvd decrypter; What is the difference between ISO and IFO modes on this program? I've seen other videos advising to use IFO instead of ISO. Also....is it possible to take off the subtitles and others languages on dvd crypter, before decrypter the movie dvd?

ISO will create one file on your computer that contains the entire DVD contents. I believe the IFO mode will create a couple folders that contain the entire DVD files. If you’re just copying a DVD, it’s easier to use ISO mode. To remove the subtitles and foreign language tracks, do that in DVD Shrink. That’s is the purpose of that program. DVD Decrypter is used to break the copy protection and copy the disc to your computer.

If my file size is only 1 layer and the size is under 4 ....bytes do I have to use DVD shrink? Can I just decrypt and then just burn the dvd with my pre-installed software on my computer? I hope this makes sense. Thanks!!

But that may still not take care of the PAL format issue, correct? I found this other thread, Media Guides and Services, The digital FAQ's "How to convert PAL... but the process failed or I'm clearly misunderstanding. I didn't want to edit anything so at first I skipped the editing in steps 3 and 4. However, Virtual Dub could not open the MPEG-2 file. Even when I did edit, the files could still not be opened. any ideas?

@shrocky2 I didn't use my computer while it was processing the shrink and its not the blank DVD-R, not to mention I tried to use the decrypter with 1clickdvdcopy5 and didn't do anything. Would handbreak work better then dvd decrypter?

I'm running Windows Vista Business on my computer, when I had Windows XP I had no problem decrypting and shrinking my films for my own use, but now that I'm running Vista I'm having awful problems, could you please explain what settings I should be using for Vista. I've copied a couple of films one will play on one DVD player but no sound and won't play on my other DVD players. Any help gratefully accepted.

I'm sorry but i'm not sure I follow how to use the hd decrypter to fit on a single layer. You don't have a video on how to use the hd decryp to single layer dvd? I think I follow everything up to using dvd shrink to shrink those files small enough. Although I've used dvd fab I don't think I've ever used the hd decrypt.

Hi! I followed everything you say to do to complete a movie decrypt and shrink so that you can burn on to a blank DVD R. When I decrypt and the process and is saved on the desktop, the icon is white with a green arrow instead of a dvd, making it impossible to right click and burn. I followed the instructions exactly, but somehow I still end up with a "data" disc containing audio_ts and video_ts folders which obviously will not play on a DVD player. I saw a previous comment about using DVD-R disc. I am using DVD+R disc, is that the problem?

We decrypted and shrank it, and went to print it with windows like you said, but it says medium not found. We are using a DVD-R Maxell w/ 4.7 GB. Any ideas what the problem is?

OK, I got one done. Seems like I used a CD vs. a DVD to burn. Now, I am trying to backup another one. In the Decrypter program comes up a window: " Destination Disk Space Timer Runtime Exception. Mesaage= EAccess Violation. Parse VTSM Runtime EXception File; VTS 14.0 IFO. I can not click out of the window. I had to shut down the program to close it. The DVD I am trying to decrypt is 4,699,979 MB. I know it's to big and needs to be devided. I just can't get over the error window. Any suggest

Using win7 64 bit without any error message box like the video showed, DVD Decrypter says "successfully completed". When trying to open the ISO in DVD Shrink as suggested "create disc image" I get an error message saying, "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue, failed to read .ISO file, the parameter is incorrect". The ISO file was assigned to a folder in a brand new WD smartware external drive.

hey shrocky, i read on another board that most dvds made after 08 can not be copied even with any dvd. I found this is also the case with me. Most made after 08 won't work even with dvd decryter and any dvd and especially the disney dvds. Can you offer any other suggestions on how to copy these dvds?

I tried dvd encrypter before watching your video. I have also used format factory which worked for me but I could not remove subtitles. I used to use dvd43 but now have windows 7 64 bit and it no longer works. So I tried the dvd decrypter program you suggested, but this is so much slower than dvd3 I already paid for 1 click dvd but can't use it without a decrypter. Is there a shorter way without copying the movie to the c drive that seems like over kill when I only want to do a direct copy. Is there something easier thanks

I had the error "a required privilege is not held." I was trying to "read" it get an ISO. I noticed by switching to my "C: Drive" it worked. Whereas before I had "E: drive" selected

when you decrypt and use dvd shrink and burn it. do it burn it as a VTS_.VOB , can you saved it to be only 1 file like mp4, or avi, or flv ? or does it have to be in many files ? can you explain how to take many vts files and make them in to 1 file ? any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've tried to make multiple copies from an encoded stored file, but without success. Shrink thinks every time it is used that a new file is to be encoded for burning. What about making a video to show how multiple copies can be made?

Can't seem to get it right. I can get as far as decrypter, but then when I try to pull it up with Shrink the computer can't find the ISO file to start using it. But I know it saved it after Decrypter. I am running Windows 7. Is there any special way to save it that will help? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I think with the newest dvd fab 9.0.7.2. You can't use hd decrypter after it expires. Do you know if you can, i tried clicking on everything and i can't find the option for hd decrypter, not with the newest dvd fab.

i have a question when I hit the decrypt button to burn my minidisc. I wait for it to burn for 20 minutes. The problem is that when it is uploading it freezes in 30 percent and it stays like that.
