I can't tell you how many videos I looked at trying to find a simple way to just load my photos into my MacBook Pro (which I just purchased) without going through Photos and Library and Albums. Your method is simplicity at it's finest. Using Photos, Library, and Album leads to complications if you want to transfer your photos to an external drive and use them on another computer. This method is so simple and IT WORKS!!!!

Is there no proper place to drag files to? What if I don’t want a folder on my desktop? I’m used to opening file explorer on Windows and I can click the photos folder and create a new folder there. Or, you can empty the SD contents into Photos in one action. You also have the option to delete the card contents in the same action. Edit, delete etc in Photos✌️
