This one almost had it all... Jerry doing his dozer mania thing, Aaron crushing it, Matt shows up in relief and DP slinging mud. The only thing missing is the Cap’n coming in for comic relief!!! Now about that sentimental cedar... when we were first married, we were broke. I mean, after all the bills were paid we feasted on rice and beans, broke. So, we went on a scavenger hunt along the country roads to find a Christmas tree. Finally, we found it. A cedar that looked kinda symmetrical and about the right size. We cut it, tied it to the top of my Toyota and toted it home. You know, it looked a lot better standing by the roadside than it did up close. Sitting it in front of the picture window showed just how sparse the limbs were. Hanging ornaments on its droopy limbs opened it up even more.... and, do you know how many critters take refuge in a cedar during cold weather? Some friends came over for a visit. We all laughed and they took a Polaroid photo of us standing beside it. That turned out to be the only picture we have of our first year of marriage... as ugly as the tree was, it is still my favorite! Keep digging... I’ll keep watching.

Skynet 1 Probably a hellava consultant on problems like the water issue on this project as well. Can you imagine the hours saved with Jerry running that dozer. You probably noticed no wasted passes across the bottom of that pond as he was cleaning out the mud, and at the same time making it bigger... That is stuff you just can't teach to a "newbie" operator. It only comes from time in the seat of the equipment...

I found a sand vein I'm pushing out first before I continue with my lifts. Should be done with that today🤞. Mike you have some great informational videos, everything from using equipment the most efficiently to different qualities of soil(bad and good). Just wanted to say from watching you and Letsdig18(Chris) inspired me to take on my dam building project, and wanted to say thank you! Mike after seeing what you were digging into at 8:14 I think I would have moved the dam. I would start a new Dam core trench just past the current dam make the lake a touch bigger if I had to. Chris (letsdig18) always said that the base of the pond needed to be waterproof as well. With taking dirt out of the bottom does that bring up questions of water leaking through the bottom or is the quality of the bottom good enough to handle taking some of it out?
