Another great video thank you. What I like about these videos is that they point you in the right direction. Sometimes when we are taught something we can take it for what it is and run with it. Then there are times where we're take what we're taught and just add a little modification based on our understanding but at least it's pointing us in the right direction. Thanks again.

Thanks Chris! A fantastic video! I really like the idea of using CA for this. That's a great way to help stabilize the assembly.

Terrific video. Am considering making cues and this is good information. Have played for 40 years and have about 60 cues. Have to really search for info on cue builds. Deciding what cue lathe to go with. Maybe cuesmith. Thanks for the video. New subscriber. 😊

I like the fact that you use CA glue. Have you cut open a test piece forearm to inspect how well the CA was distributed throughout the length of the forearm? And roughly how much (ounces) of CA glue is required for this method?

Thank you, Yes, I have ripped a piece of cored material down the middle to see how well the process worked. I found complete and thorough penetration. It takes, on average, 1/3 of an ounce for this process.

What are the 23:48 reasons to core a cue. You mention grain direction to create stability. Are there any feel or playabilty benefits etc.
@CuemakersGuild7 ай бұрын
Yes, Coring does provide for a little more of a consistent transfer of energy along with overall harmonics. However, coring is mainly used for structural integrity and warp resistance, along with aiding in weight reduction or addition.

I have a 19oz players cue that doesn't seem to have a weight kit in it at all. No metal threads to add weight to. Where can I get a complete kit? Thanks
@CuemakersGuild7 ай бұрын
Hi, It would more than likely need to be grilled and tapped at the bumper to allow for the addition of weight bolts. I would recommend having it tapped deep enough so that you could install a series of small .3 oz. Weights. This way, you may adjust it to your desired weight on the fly.

It does appear to have be threaded.

Another great video. Is there a way you guys can make a video using Gorilla Original glue with a core cue. Thank you.
@CuemakersGuild8 ай бұрын
Hi, We already have a video showing this on our channel. It was added by Ed Petersen.
@playpool12fyao8 ай бұрын
@@CuemakersGuildthank you for the reply. Ed talks about it but it I must of missed it because he doesn’t actually apply the glue like how Chris exactly shows us “how” to pure the CA between the core and the forearm. Thank you.

@@playpool12fyao Hi, I will speak with Ed in regards to producing another how-to video showing the actual glue-up process.

Why do you core maple with maple? Just for example? Most core maple with Purple Heart. Just curious.
@CuemakersGuild8 ай бұрын
As mentioned in the video, it is about crossing the grain, creating stability. I always core with maple personally. The only time that I would use purpleheart is if I need to add weight to the cue.
