That is good advise, some guys start off sounding good, and then they seem to fall on the floor. LOL Stop in sometime for a coffee break, 21 in South Carolina. Old Radio Night

Ok I just bought a Turner road king Mic and ate it. My personal experience was it didn't taste very good and it was hard and crunchy. Now my problem is I have to buy a new Mic but want one that's more Tasty 🤓❗🇺🇸

Ottima spiegazione. Piuttosto come si potrebbe modificare x levare il limitatore di rumore! Se si quali componenti da modificare? Grazie!

Interesting. I’ve always been told to talk across the mic rather than into it.

if your Cb. is peaked,tuned and has more power than stock, then you don't want to have your mouth close to the mic! but if its a stock set up then you do want your mouth close to the mic
@Adamdaj
@Adamdaj 7 жыл бұрын
You need to close to the mic, but not eating mic. That's just as bad being too far. I say no more then 3 inches away from the mic, don't kiss the mic.

no need to eat the mike if the radio was tuned properly this would not be an issue

They're directional mics. Very directional. Tuned or not, they need your mouth to be as close as possible. Anything more than an inch or so away from the mic will be severely muted. Even moreso if you try to talk off axis. Close equals loud with these mics. Any space between your mouth and that mic and you're not getting its full potential.

Why does teh SRA-198 distort, When going close on a 18 wxst II?
@walcottradio
@walcottradio 7 жыл бұрын
The most likely reason is that someone has removed the mod limiter in your Cobra 18, which is resulting in over-modulation. Other types of "mod kits" or "swing kits" would do the same thing, produce over-modulation. Alternatively, you may have component failure. A stock Cobra 18 and an SRA-198 mic should work perfectly fine together.

@@overdaedgebroadcasting2220 most likely impedance mismatch the cobra 18 radio uses an electret capacitive stock mike element . modifications need to be done to match the sra198 mike and set the frequency curve of the output

That is incorrect. Do not put on your moth. You will sound like you have mouthful of gravel when you talk. Hold it so it’s thumbs length away and no further. Farther away you can not hear the user.
