I actually disagree, speed potions can be really useful in different scenarios. As an example if someone has diamond armour and sword, its much easier to combo them with speed effect because you take less kb, plus you can strafe faster. Also its really useful in 4v1 scenarios where you are breaking the bed(easy to escape + combo everyone). Speed potions are underrated.

Speed pots jump pots, and invis are all good for when your bed is ded. Speed helps with PVP, Jump helps with escaping, and invis for stealth.

Tip: If someone is placing tnt on your base, place a water bucket after the tnt was placed to stop the explosion. The same can be done with blocks, if done correctly!

Speed is extremely necessary when your rush or opponent is better than you. It makes it harder for the enemy to hit you if you're strafing (Going from side to side). It also helps you catch up to someone if they skip you. Edit: Sponges are extremely useful. If someone happens to water your bed, you can block up and sponge the water source. You can also use sponges to lower someones fps. Personally, I use sponges for blocking in. Not only does it lower the fps, it also takes some time for them to break the sponge. Ofc, the sponge disappears but by that time, you should have the bed.
