@@DocFriday Not always a good idea to rush. The kbd on Bryan creates space especially if they can do it well to give them enough space. Plus he does have a punch parry. Kbd is really important on characters like Bryan, mishimas, etc. Characters who can get space are really good like ewgf or bryan with his mids. A guy who has played tekken for 20+ years and he doesnt know anything? Dude he knows a lot. And its nice that he helps people for there is 0 tutorial in tekken 7 on how to ACTUALLY play the game correctly. Lots of stuff to learn considering how much this game has changed for I have played every tekken. But i never played PvP. Dont dog the mainmanswe

Somethings that he didnt mention, and i would find useful to know His Sidestep 1 is a natural hit launcher, brayn can easily get 70 dmg out of it, yes its a high but its a sidestep move, youre supposed to use while sidestepping moves, not out of nowhere And his u/f 3 or u 3 is a really useful move, it doesnt give a full launch like the orbital, but it is neutral to +1 on block, and you can get a wall combo with it, but its kinda linear, i use it alot And be careful trying to pressure bryans that use FC 4 alot, its a great move, and crushes highs Edit: and another thing i forgot about that he didnt mention Bryan can cancel his qcf from b 3 f This may not seem like much, but all his qcf attacks are mids (with excep of the new qcf 2, 1 that is a high, mid), so if the player is fast enough, he can easily cancel into a throw, or a hatchet kick (that is kinda of hard) or even just a jab, to make sure he stays at plus frames

What about pressure from his B1 elbow. I fought a Bryan once who really knew how to place those. He made sure I would either block it or eat no matter what he did. I know it’s steppable, just forgot to which side. And I can’t help but feel the side step window is very strict kinda like trying to step Jacks ff,1

@@Cr1ms0nRav3n it is SSR and if you SS block you should be fine in most situations because while he has good homing moves they arent THAT fast. After you block b1 he will try to go for pressure so there you can ss as well, because it is +3 on block (general rule is you can step block at +/-3). Just watch out if he starts doing homing moves after it. Also qcb3 tracks ssr. I hope this helps you.

Oh and b4, if it lands you can get a guaranteed Mach Punch, but I can't do it consistently, it's pretty easy against the wall though. B4 >Jet Upper > delayed hopkick > jab > Wallsplat Ender and maybe a Hatchet Kick, generic down 4 or Orbital for Oki lol. Or just, against the wall, b4 > 1,4.

Bryan's elbow thingy... It's similar to Jack's elbow but with different properties. That move is used a ton online as spam! Brian's 3+4 could also use a bit more advice on how to deal with it as it's also spammable.

Don't despair dear Bryan players. If your opponent is turtling just start turtling yourself. The only thing you need is a slight life lead (you can use db+3 or d+4 if he's not ducking) and some patience. Eventually your opponent will have to come to you when the time runs out.

As a bryan main, Its actually even better for a bryan player to play keep out and chip you out. Because bryan can keep you out the whole time if he has the life lead. So best thing to do imo is actually to rush bryan. He doesnt have good punish under 14f lol The chances of you making a bryan player make mistakes is higher when you pressure him. Or else he can easily play a turtle. And if the bryan player uses his soccer kick and d4, mix it up with 3+4 and orbital, then thats game for you.

Funny thing about the hatchet kick is that is not a fireball back motion so you cant input the qcb and the 3 at the same time. It's a stance into an attack so tricky execution gets trickier

To all the Bryan mains out there who are now struggling.. Four Major Tips > f+4, 1 is his long-range i18 launcher that can launch punish unsafe moves like Kazuya's WS+2 > Against characters with i13 WS launchers, use d/b+3 like how Dragunov would use his d+2 (you also have a semi-FC mixup to go with it), you also have d+4 > Do optimize b+1 on block, hit, and counter-hit > This is an extremely hard technique only Koreans do, but you also have a 50/50 mixup from crouch dash (you will know when you get there) Four Minor Tips > Learn and optimize b+4 > Practice Jet Upper because defensive turtles like Kazuya tend to have several -14 moves > Qcb+3 and qcb+4 work best at range 2 > Taunt f+1, 4 is better than a blocked Snake Edge (you get what I mean) Hope this helps, keep grinding..

And tbh, red/purple ranks are not what they used to be. What will you do, if you encounter a good bryan player? Alt f+4 because someone taught you only how to fight a green rank one?

As a bryan main i can agree , but you guys forget that his b+1 is one of his key moves, he can pressure pretty well , although he is at it's strongest at the neutral cuz of his absured counter hit baiting game and at the wall cuz of his redicilous wall game , he is stepable to the right but he has moves that track to his weak side so take notice . He is also the strongest option against jack players but requires high execution . He is weak against some turtles like kazuya but he can also beat turtles . He is the only character which can be used as both rushdown and keepout but he is mostly a defensive character even though his whiff punishment is quite average , his standing block punishment is good only at 14 frames or more . His ws punishment , slightly above average . Indeed rushing bryan is a bad idea .

1st move i tried learning when i started tekken (5) with bryan is his sidestep fb2 bcoz i always see it done by knee on youtube. I would prctice this motion many times so for me personally it was an added bonus when i learned in depth that bryan really doesnt have a quicker launcher and i didnt have to relearn how to play properly.

One more advice: If you dont know how to get up after a wallcombo (because of taunt), then try using a delayed techroll. Most bryan players expect an instant techroll or you just laying on the ground. They wont know how to deal with that.

UltimateBallaPOM how many pros get super far with Bryan? If we’re talking high level then Bryan is just out of the question. No one gets far with Bryan outside of JimmyJ and if you notice, jimmyj doesn’t use b1 often. Can’t say Knee is even a Bryan player anymore except -maybe- as an Akuma counterpick -maybe-. And knee doesn’t use b1 often either. In advanced/upper intermediate online play, what I said about sidestepping b1 is true. Against beginner intermediate level where no one sidesteps, yea it’s an amazing move.

Today I played with Lee(mighty ruler) against the weirdest Brian(revered ruler), he focused on grabs, snake edge, and some setups-blue rank things. Most of the time he would hold back and then move in for the grab, he would randomly do snakedges etc. I beat him 4 games (punishing snakedges and escaping throws). got to a promotion match and then lost 13 in a row. On my side I had to be extremely careful in order to win, and he could play while reading a book. I think that in big deathmatch when there are stakes it's better to rely on cheap punishable moves then on a defensive play that requires skill and focus. In the long run easy always wins. He is probably a good player that decided to use sheep stuff regardless if you punish him or not. You will escape 10 throws but not 40, punish the snakedge 10 times but not 30 etc. So I feel that in the intermediate level best tactic is to wisely use cheep mooves frustrating your opponent when they land, also your movement has to be like you have 1 brain cell making it more frustrating for the opponent when he loses. So to conclude be smart and pretend to be an idiot. If you encounter this type of player, play only until you lose the first game then leave, cos you are gonna be getting tired and hes gonna be constant. Unless you are really super focused.

The most under-used string that Bryan has is d2,3 .. the first hit forces crouch on hit and can be hit confirmed with d2,3 gives good plus frames on hit and great okizeme if string is completed and if the last hit counter hits you get a full combo .. even though the first hit is a bit steppable the second hit tracks ..

TMM can you make a video about countering steve fox i'm a begginer/yellow rank player, I main hwoarang, but against a friend of mine always get crushed by steve pressure and stuff like that(the point is my friend knows even less than me bout the game, he can't backdash for ex, but his mashing destroys me) can u help please?

If you're getting destroyed by mashing, it's not just a matter of learning how to counter Steve. You've gotta get a good foundational understanding of spacing and punishing along with learning to be patient and not press buttons. These are things I'm working on mastering as well but the knowledge I've been implementing shot me up a few ranks in no time.

Weird, everytime I play against a friend of mine and his Brian he completely fucks me over by spamming 3 different moves that are completely safe on block, until I'm in the corner where just needs any hit to fuck me up. All I do is guessing for his 50/50 until I'm dead.

f4,1 is normally meant to be a long range whiff punish, not many players use it unless someone is pressing pressing buttons at extreme ranges, so the same principle applies

@@jacenreyes6378 You can hit confirm it, if you're good enough anyway. The window for 4 has good timing. You could also simply delay it and toss it out anyway to try and catch your opponent off guard, the 4 also can counter hit.

Yeah what i usually do is counter he has like 1.5 second delay per combos if you know how to take advantage of those seconds you can turn the battle around but he has more damage than most characters so its quite annoying
