Bottom Line Is, The O Line is not Pushing/Controlling the D Line.
@liongold8Күн бұрын
Exactly.. we are getting pushed around on both sides of the ball.. we need stronger linemen
@ClayG_3Күн бұрын
I think it's more on the straight drop backs that's hurting the OL so badly, Quinn is more mobile than what people wanna give him credit for. Moving the pocket could help, he's accurate while on the move. It eliminates the poor footwork issue and removes the ability of pass rushers to just T-off against the OL. The pocket has collapsed from behind several times

How do you attack a 3 high shell? A "3-high shell" defense, often referred to as a "Tite Front" or "3-safety look," is a modern defensive alignment designed to counter explosive offenses. It typically involves three deep safeties who help limit big plays and force offenses into shorter, less efficient gains. Here's how offenses can attack this setup: 1. Run the Ball (TEXAS IS WEAK IN THIS RESPECT) 2. Flood the Intermediate Zones Why It Works: The three-deep coverage can leave openings in the intermediate zones (10-20 yards downfield). Tactics: Utilize levels concepts, flood routes, or crossing patterns to overload the safeties and linebackers. These plays stress the defense horizontally and vertically. 3. Stretch the Defense Horizontally Why It Works: The safeties in a 3-high shell are responsible for significant field coverage, which can be exploited. Tactics: Run quick outs, screens, and jet sweeps to force the safeties to commit and open up space elsewhere. 4. Attack the Weak Spots Middle of the Field: Target the areas between the three safeties with seam routes or digs. Flats: Hit the flats quickly to exploit the delay in defenders rotating down. 5. Tempo and Pre-Snap Motion Why It Works: Motion can confuse defenders and force them to reveal their coverage. Tactics: Use motion to create mismatches, shift the defense, or confirm if they’re in zone or man coverage. 6. Quarterback Mobility (TEXAS DOESN'T HAVE THIS) Why It Works: A mobile quarterback can stress the edges of a defense that's spread out to protect deep. Tactics: Incorporate designed QB runs or rollouts to take advantage of reduced edge containment. Play Designs That Work Well: Counter Runs: Exploit defensive linemen flowing aggressively to one side. Mesh Concepts: Confuse defenders with crossing routes in man coverage. Four-Verticals: Stress safeties and force them to pick a coverage responsibility. RPOs: Make the defense commit to either the run or the pass. By staying patient and taking what the defense gives you, offenses can methodically attack a 3-high shell and exploit its inherent weaknesses.

I hate to say it, but the remedy for this three high look is CJ Baxter. No one truly fears our inside zone/run game and I don’t think we have a solution for it this year.

Coach, a question. Are players still running backwards every practiser? Our old coaches required it every practice several times, said it prevented hamstring injuries. We had no hammies.

Maybe he waits to bring out 6-Oline until playoff time. Bluffing now, saying he doesn’t like to use it, but should we see it again, I bet he goes back to it in more important games

Offense is not top 5 caliber - Defensive keeps giving them the ball back, then 3 and out. Its not gonna happen, but wish they would start with Manning. Don't see how it could be worse, and he does have the legs to maneuver, and hell of an arm. Hate to see us not reach our full potential when we are so close. Stuck in 3rd gear. But gonna trust Stark, he is loyal to the Quinn, just hope it doesn't bite us in the butt,
@Dread-HeadedTexanКүн бұрын
I bet next year when Arch is the Qb Sark will have no issue beating a three high safety. It's not unbeatable Sark has yet to have the signal caller under center to beat it. Next year we have Arch who can and will hit you deep and outside, who will run it it's not there and make you play honest. It ain't that Sark can't beat it. At Alabama he couldn't do what he needed to beat it cause he had noodle armed Mac Jones. He had trouble last two years he's had Quinn who is good in the short and intermediate but inaccurate down the field.
@brucebarton2099Күн бұрын
Heck yeah brother I agree...all we need is a QB to go pick up those yards for a first down when we don't have open receivers, that's all that we are lacking, to keep drives alive...HOOKEM
@drm2364Күн бұрын
Sark doesn't like to run his QB, period.
@brucebarton2099Күн бұрын
@drm2364 understood...but when everyone is covered and all Ewers has to do is go pick up a couple yards for a first down when it's wide open...is exactly what we need and lacking desperately...because if not...we keep settling for 3 and outs more often...it kills us
@BigBrownBevoКүн бұрын
Quinn did well last year against the three high, but Sark hasn’t been doing the same things to beat it this year.
@Dread-HeadedTexanКүн бұрын
@BigBrownBevo it's not the same team. He doesn't have Brooks and Baxter to make you pay. The run games isn't a threat like last year. Wisner and Blue don't have the frame and Gibson isn't ready.

I think there are some people that are like yes we’re happy we’re 9-1 but we’re coming up on the playoffs and his play hasn’t been good enough as of late to make a deep run/ win a natty. more upset with his production than a true hate for Quinn. If they truly hate Quinn they’re an Aggie in disguise
