Beautiful form on the uppercuts - short, tight movements, with the defending hand only travelling minimally away from the chin to strike, then returning fast to home position.

As always great work coach!!! Every time I watch one of your videos I realize, that most of the trainers I worked with (especially one) don't know shit about boxing and just taught me shit!!! I was always taught to shift my whole bodyweight from my back foot to my front foot 🤦

Thanks coach, as always. Can you make a break down of nicolino locce's defense or dmtry pirog's style? By the way, i'm perfectioning the padwork drills in the bag, awesome progress for the sparring. This year i'm gone try in competitions. I'm doing sanda (chinese boxing, more or less like kickboxing), but still this tecniques work if I apply the right adjustments to cover different distances. Cheers from argentina, hasta siempre!!

My problem with the shoulder plane is that it keeps your head mostly situated in one spot which makes it susceptible to being timed and countered. It also confines you to some degree offensively. Being more square allows for greater head movement and it's better for a shorter fighter who needs to be on the attack.
@WorldClassBoxingChannel5 жыл бұрын
Jordan Dupree shoulder trajectory of the left shoulder being higher than the right shoulder for a shorter fighter is what’s more important than shoulder plane being more squared off to the opponent when trying to be aggressive. Although David Tua and Dwight Muhammad Quawi were 2 of the best and they fought with the shoulder trajectory and plane that I always talk about. If you haven’t ever watched them check them out. Quawi was a HOF fighter and David Tua is one of the best Heavyweights to never win the Heavyweight Title ever. Mike Tyson, Joe Frazier and Henry Armstrong were squared off more like you mentioned. I covered those guys styles in a another video that I did. I appreciate your insight and I agree for some guys that are shorter and looking to be aggressive being a little more squared off can be effective.
