Sounds like I'll be going on a timer hunt. I found a couple bases I want to raid. Although, I've started trying to code raid first, since according to my calculations, it might be faster than finding the necessary explosives. I also tried some melee on walls, but it seems to take sooooo looooong. Edit: I've accessed 3 bases on official. I see I'll need explosives on servers with code locks, otherwise I face the potential of spending 36 full days cracking codes. I may test melee raiding if I start playing modded servers.

Thermometer, electrical repair kit, c4, 9V battery, explosive container. Makes proximity explosive. When player is in small room, body temperature raises room temp. After about 30 seconds, 💥 Good base defense booby-trap

According to the game's files and my own tests, there is no risk of accidental detonation when disarming IED's.

@@growwise5618 It has not. Landmines have a risk of exploding during disarming. With the PE4 charges and IED kits, you're effectively disarming the fuse, not the catalyst.

I’ve got a question about the improvised explosive. Does it matter what kind of explosive you put into it or does it depend on the explosive. I know it takes about 2 plastic explosives to blow a wall but someone told me I could use 2 40mm grenades instead. Normally grenades including high explosives 40mm require 12 to blow a wall.

I have a detonator and a plastic explosive, both worn. When I place the plastic then hold the detonator towards it, I only see the option to pick up the explosive... I do notice that graphically the detonator has no wires... Any suggestions anyone? Does a used detonator show as 'ruined' or is it just that the wires no longer display maybe..?

This is a known bug. I've reported it to the Feedback Tracker. If your detonator kit is not ruined, it should work. I have found that if I keep moving the explosive and trying to arm it, it eventually works.

As a last resort you can take your life into your own hands and end things if you are in a pinch take people out with you or if running from a foe drop it as you run and blow it up as you go and confuse a enemy as to your location and at a great distance you can use a tripwire to set it off if you are too far away.

Next I take out my tomato kitchen timer, set the time, looking at the IED it says add timer, or whatever, I get the animation and white ring, once the animation stops the timer is still in hand, the IED as no timer and is saying ready for timer.

PE4 is not a military grade explosive. It's used in demolition and excavation.

In my experience, it takes between 5-6 grenades to destroy each wall. You'd just be wasting your kit.

That’s a known bug with some placements. Keep trying to arm it and eventually it’ll work. It’s annoying and stressful during raids. I feel you.
