Come for the beautimous stones; stay for the badass techno bass drop. 😆Great video, all around, Sean. I particularly like the tip about making the runes deep; I often feel like mine aren't visible, at the end

Heh heh... I felt like uping the tempo so a bit of dubstep definitely got me thinking creatively 😂... and yeah I really wanted them to stand out, all in all pretty chuffed with the final build! Cheers Cross

Cool! Thanks. I may not put them in my vids, but I've likely found a new "whilst crafting soundtrack"

OHHHHH, TY TY TY, I never would have thought about using paper towels like that on packing foam. I normally use that type of foam for internal support or inside transport boxes but that opens up a whole slew of smaller projects I would not use XPS foam on unless I had a lot of off cuts. (..and lets be honest, in this economy, I cut everything as close to the bone as I can LOL) I know what I will be doing this afternoon!

That is awesome Samantha! I find that you still need to use the quite dense packing foam, the type that comes with electronics and stuff... If it's too spongy then it will remain pretty fragile still. I have a much bigger project that I am working on using similar techniques but that won't be out for a while yet 😃... oh yes, if you have time in your project then leaving it to dry and doing another layer really improves the durability!... have fun

I was rock hard after seeing this video. I have had trouble making anything with packing foam, and other youtubers mentioned using some materials used in wall fixing, which I bought to make it strong and give it a wall like texture. I never knew mixing pva glue with paper would make it sturdy and allow for painting, while covering completely the foam. Excellent video.

Heh heh... thank you so much! Its a very tried and tested route with my stuff, and if you have time for an extra couple layers it is even stronger plus you can dust it with a little grout or bonding plaster to add extra strength and texture!... Have fun :)
