How to Create 5 Logo Designs in 15 Minutes with Midjourney

Midjourney and other AI tools are taking the world by storm right now. A lot of conversation has been had about whether or not AI can legitimately replace graphic designers and digital artists. I don't think we're there yet but it may not be long.
In this video I'll show you how to create logo designs in Midjourney, explore some of the prompts that I've found to be most effective, and do all of our logo creation in about 10 minutes. After that, we'll jump into Canva and do some quick editing and you'll have a usable logo design in no time!

Cool video ! Better result with Photoshop (or free Photopea, or GIMP) to delete text and put new text. Canva is not do for that.

Thank you! And great suggestion, you’re 100% right! I used Canva in this video just to demonstrate how easily it can be done for someone with no experience at all, but I plan to create another video soon to show how to do something similar in Inkscape and GIMP.

As far as I know right now yes you can! They’ve created a new category for AI related services recently but I think you could also do a regular logo design service too, although I wonder if they may change their terms of service soon and not allow AI services outside of the AI category.

Midjourney should begin making plans to raise their 25 free limit right away. As an alternative, AI technologies like Blue Willow will become more and more popular over time. Blue Willow, in my opinion, will be the one to take down MidJourney. What do you think?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! I completely agree that Midjourney needs to raise their limit, if not I definitely think they will start losing a lot of users to free platforms (if they haven’t already). I think that if BlueWillow continues to improve rapidly they are definitely a strong competitor to lead the charge with AI art, but there are also a number of other platforms that have a chance as well such as Leonardo and Playground AI (I haven’t personally used either but have seen some pretty cool examples made with both). The one thing that I think is hurting Midjourney and BlueWillow a lot is that they both operate in Discord. Some of the other platforms that don’t have a major advantage in that area in my opinion.

I've used leonardo ai and blue willow because you can't even use midjourney for free at all now, even though it says you have a free trial. They can't handle to load on the servers. Leonardo AI is amazing and you get 150 tokens a day for free.

These are OK, but you also have to consider PMS colors, & Printing.

I agree, those are definitely important considerations for doing this professionally for clients and those types of details are a big reason why AI can’t replace skilled graphic designers. However, I think that Midjourney is great for coming up with high quality concepts really quickly. For pros, that’s a great opportunity to save time in the idea/concept phase and for beginners/hobby users that just need a quick logo design and aren’t as concerned about those details, Midjourney may get them pretty close to a finished product for their intended use. I know it definitely isn’t considered a professional program, but for someone who does this for fun and not professionally, it’s a super quick and easy way to get a usable result. I completely understand why someone with more experience using programs like Illustrator wouldn’t like this approach, but they also probably already know how to fix text without a tutorial.

This is great an all to dole out samples, but in the long run if the client wants one of the logo samples you're still going to have to re-create it, I think you left that part out. You can't send the logo as is cause in my experience as a graphic designer they will need the logo as a png, jpeg, svg, eps and or pdf. You could only send it as jpeg, the eps file(logo broke down in parts) is so the client can use parts of the logo or maybe change the color if needed. So if you have no graphic design skill nor knowledge this is a wasted idea.

Thanks for your comment, you made a lot of great points! I think that the best way to use this tool for logos, like you mentioned, is to create a lot of high quality samples in a short period of time and use these samples to create a finished product. Regarding the different file formats, I agree with what you said about customer expectations. I plan to make a follow-up video in the near future that will explain how to create a vector file from the Midjourney output that will hopefully cover the basics of that process. For people who aren’t comfortable with that process (or for more complicated designs), I think that another option would be to pay someone to convert your design to a vector. But the points you made are definitely evidence of why there will still be a need for people with graphic design skills even with the emergence of AI tools.

I’m not 100% sure if it’s the same policy for the free version, but if you are paying for Midjourney you can use them for anything you want (commercial or personal use)!
