Oh wow, love your channel, This video is fantastic for me, I have paint pens, and they are like gelatos, but I've never really understood how to use them. I have been binge watching your tutorials, and you're an inspiration to me, I have multiple illnesses including arthritis and fibromyalgia, copd, degenerative spinal disease and many more, now I just sit and colour which is what I love doing, I struggle with pencils but you've opened my eyes to other forms of markers in another haul video you did, so thankyou for taking time out of your day to show your beautiful pages and tutorials ❤

I need to try the makeup brushes. I’ve been using finger sponges, but I haven’t been able to get it as smooth as this. Aqua Dolce is my fave gelato colour! ❤
@jicolourist Жыл бұрын
I started out using my finger for smoothing, but since I began using the brushes I love that method. So much easier to apply and the blending is smoother.

Hi Jodie, new to your videos. Thank you so much for your video on how to use the gelatos . Do you happened to have a link to the Tim Holtz media mat? Having trouble finding a non glass one like yours pictured
@jicolourist Жыл бұрын
Hi, and welcome to the group. The tim holtz mat is temper glass. The sheet is a plastic cling on sheet used on top of the glass. If you look on Amazon or craft stores that carry Tim. Here is a USA amazon link (not affiliate) www.amazon.com/Holtz-Replacement-Palette-Glass-Cutting/dp/B07BB3JLV5/ref=sr_1_5?crid=D4QLL756EEXI&keywords=tim+holtz+media+grip+mat&qid=1701441168&sprefix=Tim+holtz+media%2Caps%2C239&sr=8-5

Hi Jody great video 😊 thank you for sharing was very interesting. I have not tried gelatos. Would there be a set you recommend to start with?
@jicolourist Жыл бұрын
Hi Cindy, I would recommend buying a multi pack I have found the pastels most useful for backgrounds. So if you were buying them for backgrounds may want to start there

Great video Jody! You inspired me to use the set of metallic Gelatos I have on a page that I've been working on. I'm interested in purchasing the pastel set of Gelatos but I'm having trouble finding them for sale at a reasonable price in the UK.
@jicolourist Жыл бұрын
Thats Awesome Laura, I will watch out for your picture on Instagram 👏🏻. Faber Castell is from the UK so I would hope that things go on sale periodically, and you can find them at a good price 🤞🏻
@kaleidoscopiccolours Жыл бұрын
I hope so, although I believe that Faber-Castell is a German company. I know that Derwent is UK based, but I'm pretty sure that Faber-Castell isn't.

I was wondering, how do you clean the dry brushes that you used in the beginning? To get the color off.
@jicolourist9 ай бұрын
Hi when I am all done I wash my brushes with a brush soap and water and let dry. You can also just rub your brush off on a dry cloth or paper towel until nothing rubs off. I do this method when I am still planning on using the brushes that day.
@beverleyquirke56146 ай бұрын
How do you treat the paper?
@jicolourist6 ай бұрын
Hi, when using gelatos dry rubbed on with a brush you do not need to pre treat the paper. If you plan on using wet mediums I usually will use Daniel Smith transparent watercolor ground.
