Thanks, Raddy. You have answered many of my questions using the new block editing features in WordPress. Excellent overview tutorial.

Just starting to learn this new WP layout. Why does the documentation make no note of this plugin to help build out the basic skeleton site files? How useful.

BTW, since Gutenberg comes loaded in the WordPress core why do you need to add the Gutenberg plugin?

Thanks for this introduction! I'm still struggling with some parts or sometimes find it hard to get an overview of all changes made in the different levels (theme / block templates / user based). And I'm wondering where I can style the input fields (I have ContactForm 7 installed). Do you have an idea?
@RaddyDev Жыл бұрын
Good point about styling inputs. Currently I think that we can only do it with custom CSS. Specifically for Contact Form 7 there are a lot of articles that show how to style the inputs. You can find something that you like then copy, paste and modify. It wold be nice to have a global way of styling the inputs without having to do this. Hopefully that's coming soon. I will have to look into it

One thing I am running into with the plug-in is that its not saving the applied color to the typography for some reason. The JSON file is being written to so the permissions on the file on my local-host works fine. I'm just stumped right now.

I wonder if it's a bug. Luckily they keep releasing new updates and hopefully it will get fixed (if they know about it). I will have to update mine to see if it does the same thing

Hi, I'm having trouble using Elementor pro with the Create Block Theme plugin. I've created a block theme using the Create Block Theme plugin, but when I try to access and customize the templates in Elementor, I don't see any of the templates created by the plugin. I've tried checking the Elementor Theme Builder, but I don't see any templates listed. Are there any workarounds or alternative solutions that I can use to customize my block theme templates using elementor pro? I'd appreciate any help or advice you can offer on how to resolve this issue and get the most out of both plugins.
@RaddyDev7 күн бұрын
Hello, in short you can't use both. Elementor uses a "Classic Theme" while the Full Site Editing needs a "Block Theme". You can choose one or the other. There are some Block themes/plugins out there that offer more drag and drop blocks, but I don't know if they can match Elementor Pro in terms of features. You'll have to check them out and try a few

@@RaddyDev Thanks for the clarification! I appreciate your insight. Upon further research, I found that Block Theme's templates and Elementor templates are distinctly different, which explains the incompatibility. However, I've encountered another challenge. One major drawback of WordPress is that we can't customize a theme that's not currently active. In a production environment, this means inevitable downtime. Additionally, I've faced an issue with the Gutenberg editor. When trying to switch the template attached to a page, the editor prompts me to create a new template instead of showing the custom templates I previously created. I'm not sure if this is a bug or a limitation, but it's certainly frustrating.

@@RaddyDev Also, It's understandable that the Elementor ecosystem largely ignores the native theme machinery of wp, but for beginners, this can be overwhelming. Understanding how page builders and themes interact in WordPress has taken me a while to grasp.

What is the purpose of installing the Gutenberg plugin? Is it different than the default Gutenberg block editor? In what ways does it affect the theme development?

It allows you to use the the latest experimental features. It's kind of like features that are still in beta. You don't need it, but always good to experiment

You need to activate a Full Site Editing theme for the menu to appear. Twenty Twenty-Three should do the job
